Chapter 1: Sa'ad bin Muathe and Musab bin Umair - A Gift of Faith
Kaan Ya Makaan, Fee Qadeem Al-Zamaan…
There was a Place, in Times of Old…
Called Yathrib, a town that lay over a month's journey by camel to the north of the town of Mecca.
Yet somehow, Sa'ad bin Muathe thought irritably as he strolled along the streets of Yathrib, the people of Mecca have managed to send their troubles here, to my town and my people.
Sa'ad bin Muathe was a very wise, very clever man. He was also an excellent warrior, a devoted husband and father, a caring kinsman and despite his youth, the leader and bulwark of his tribe. Whenever anyone needed anything be it advice, food, shelter, protection or just a fair judge to settle a dispute, they went to Sa'ad bin Muathe and he never let them down.
That's why when he saw his cousin, Sa'ad bin Zurarah, and a man from Mecca named Musab bin Umair calling the people of Yathrib together and proselytizing, he felt it was his responsibility to do something. Even more personally vexing to Sa’ad bin Muathe was the great success the two men seemed to be having. The people would gather and listen to the Sa’ad bin Zurarah and Musab bin Umair for a while and then, for no apparent reason, become Muslims!
Usaid,
Sa'ad said calmly to his kinsman and most trusted
