Why 600 Push-ups? Many years ago, a client and friend, Albert Miniaci, was interested in getting in really good shape to climb the Kilimanjaro in Africa. He knew that only about one third of those who attempted the climb, made it to the summit. The training was a boot camp style workout with lots of running and natural body weight exercises, also called calisthenics. We decided to play a game one day. We would combine a push-up workout with a run. The goal was to complete 600 push-ups within 60 minutes of a run. After several weeks, Albert successfully accomplished this goal. And that is the origin of the title of this book, 600 Push-ups.

I have put together a collection of over 30 types of push-ups and included workout plans. Some of the push-ups are great for all fitness levels, some for intermediate level and others for the brave and courageous.

The push-up is the best, most complete upper body exercise in the world. That is why it is the foundational exercise of all our military forces.
