    Introduction

    The game of Cricket was invented in the 1600s, in the southeast of England in a place called Weald. The sport was initially invented by the children of the farming community who lived in Weald.

    In the 17th century the sport became popular and people started playing it professionally. Initially cricket was only played in England but later it became a popular sport in most commonwealth nations like Australia, India and Pakistan.

    From the mid 1900’s right up to today, cricket is a popular international sport.

    CHAPTER 1: BASICS OF CRICKET

    There are three main activities in the game of cricket:

    •Batting

    •Bowling

    •Fielding

    Each team consists of 11 players. All eleven players fall into one of the following categories:

    •Batsman is a player who bats

    •Bowler is a player who bowls

    All eleven players need to do fielding during the match.
