      INTRODUCTION

      Since I was a teenager I knew I didn't want to work for other people. I wanted to be an entrepreneur and have my own business. Over the next few years I tried several ideas to that end.

      I sold newspaper subscriptions when I was a paper carrier at age fifteen. I sold mace and other personal security products by going door to door and putting flyers up at local schools and businesses. Later I got into computer repair, designing websites and networks.

      When I was in my 30’s I saw an internet kiosk in a hotel. It was the first time I had ever seen one and it struck me as a totally incredible idea for a business, so I went for it.

      I found a kiosk to buy on the internet, found a hotel willing to install it and placed my first kiosk. That kiosk cost me over $10,000 to purchase. I remember thinking what a terribly expensive business this was going to be. Later on I was relieved to discover how to find and buy kiosks for $1000.

      For the first three years I reinvested all the money I made right back into the business. I kept buying more kiosks, printers and other hardware. I invested in some better kiosk software and some crucial advertising.
