I loved the concept of the story, but the book had so many grammatical errors on the first page that I couldn't get passed it. I suggest having the book professionally edited and then republished so that the errors do not take away from the content.

There are few grammatical errors but overall the book was great! Halfway through the book I was like eh, I'll give it four and half stars but by the end I changed my mind. This book has all the "elements" of a good fiction story: romance, suspence, and some adventure. Its base on a girl named Ria and her family is pure. Its kind of like Harry Potter. If both your parents are wizard you are pure-bred. If only one or none you are a mud-blood or mutt. If you aren't a wizard at all your a muggle. The entire system is based on social status but except this is supernatural powers. One of Ria's "friends" is a shall we say muggle and she hates him for it and other characteristics. But soon something impossible happens and she becomes closer to him, way closer.PROS: Language is not forced. It is casual and I like that because it makes it seem more real.CONS: There are many noticeable grammatical erros which makes it hard at times to read but its really the content of the book that counts right?

Very interesting book. Compelling story with a wonderful set of characters. Really loved this world which is not very common for me. Not a big fan of witch books, I usually get bored within the 1st couple of lines, but is a very enjoyable reading. Totally worth it. Some grammatical errors that make you pause and re-read a couple of lines to understand them. Nothing that can't be solved.Very smart cliffhanger. Really makes me anxious to read the sequel. Go Alycia!

The book was a wonderful, quick read. The plot draws you in from the beginning and doesn't really let you go. There are more than a few grammatical errors, but if you can overlook those, you will likethis book. The story makes me wonder why the different types of elements can only be with their own kind. What's going to happen in future installments, especially with the way the first ended. And I usually loathe cliffhangers, but this one isn't as bad as some I've read before. It doesn't make me want to scream "What were you thinking?" And it could be because I wasn't as invested in this particular character as I was the others. I'm not sure I will pick this book up as soon as the new installment hits the internet. It's a great story, but the author should try to work more on her characters since they are the stars of the show.

I really enjoyed this book. It was definitely geared toward a young adult reader though. The characters were interesting, the plot was interesting and it ended in a manner that made me interested in the next book. However, as mentioned the proof reading leaves a lot to be desired. I found it mildly distracting. Overall, it was a great read and I look forward to the next book.

I really liked this book, it caught my attention from the beginning. Interesting characters and plot twists. Ms. Linwood knows how to grab your attention and also how to make sure you come back for that second book. Quite the cliff hanger.Though like pointed out by some of the other reviewers, you need a different proof reader. It didn't detract from the story, but I had to pause and interpret some sentences before continuing.

I really liked the book the only problem with it was the proof readers did not do their job. It was confusing because words in sentences did not make sense and words were missing in the sentences which made it worse. I liked the story and would like to read book #2 especially if they proof read it better. I enjoyed it. I would recommend this book to others to read.I would have given it 5 stars but for the missing words and spelling errors.

This installment of Element Preservers could certainly be considered a light read. Ria has just begun her first year at the University, and she's excited to begin learning about her element, fire. Everybody has an element, except for those cursed with the dreaded magic disease, which causes the inflicted to lose their element and gives them an uncontrolable desire to kill for one. Ria hates those with Magic disease, but what happens when she comes face to face with Adrian, the living son of the most famous of the disease carriers? What will Ria do when she discovers that she herself has the disease? As secrets begin to unfold, Ria discovers more about herself than she could even imagine. While Dangerous is an entertaining read, I found it difficult to look past the numerous gramatical errors. This story could greatly benefit from some gramatical editing, but has the potential to captivate many young readers. As for an older crowd, it is not among my recomendations.

The plot is very interesting and different.I'm not overly fond of books that are cliff-hangers,i prefer to finish a story.I also am not fond at all of vulgar words in a well thought story like this one,i mean we have enough words in the English language to describe a story without resorting to trash words. This author is very imaginative, and knows how to keep her readers attention,i wish her well!

*Received e-book through Read It and Reap program from the Shut Up and Read! Goodreads group from author for an honest review **also posted on Amazon.com under LeanneDangerous is told by the point-of-view of Ria Milanez, a privileged university student, who holds the element of fire. In this alternate world, magic has always been present, with people being gifted by the God of Magic with one element. The only caveat for this gift was that the elements remain “pure” and unmixed by not breeding with different elementals. As people broke this rule, magic disease carriers (those with no element) emerged, and they had the ability to infect others through sexual contact and kill others in order to steal their elements for themselves. Although the stolen element would fade with time, magic disease carriers could and most likely would continue killing to replenish their magic and this made them feared by the uninfected. Ria has grown up in an upper class family, one with a very pure elemental line, and with the belief that magic disease carriers should be feared and isolated from the general magic population. As she attends school, her beliefs are questioned and contested as she develops feelings for a water elemental, Michael, and when she encounters a famous magic disease carrier, Adrian. I thought Linwood was quite successful in creating an intriguing world with a distinctive concept. It was clever of her to use a prologue-type introduction to explain the details of it as it greatly helped set up my understanding of Ria’s reactions since the plot starts quickly with the introductions of Michael and Adrian. Without that, I believe Ria would have been less likeable as she did have rather prejudicial dialogue. In addition, Linwood did a commendable job in character development. For example, she slowly flushed out the character of Adrian, whom I detested in the first half of the book, and revealed enough of his history and circumstances such that I eventually ended up sympathizing with him. Furthermore, I loved the complexities that arise as Ria’s best friend, Paula, falls for the dangerous Adrian, while his interest lay with Ria. I enjoyed Ria’s struggle to protect her friend, while resisting Adrian’s advances. This becomes truly difficult as she begins to see Adrian in a different light versus that of just a magic disease carrier, and with the shocking twist that Linwood introduces in the middle of the book. Overall, Dangerous was an entertaining, fast read with an interesting concept with the magic disease carriers. I did become engrossed in this book (finished in two sittings) and felt that it had dynamic characters and a titillating cliffhanger ending to warrant reading the sequel, despite the grammatical errors. I would recommend this to young adult readers, who are fans of paranormal romances, such as the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent.
