Introduction

The Torch Workout is a complete fat loss and strength training system that was created as an option to traditional, one-on-one personal training. My goal in developing this program was to give small groups of 3 to 6 participants a highly effective and personalized training experience. The Torch Workout is based on several core elements including non-traditional strength training with kettlebells, sandbags, TRX suspension equipment, and participants' own body weight, combined with High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Another unique feature of this program is that participants go through a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) to identify the range and characteristics of their body movement. This allows us to create a personalized training program that will help to correct form and maximize the body's strength and mobility.

The Torch Workout represents years of my own personal training experiences using consistent strength training protocols coupled with documented research as well as the philosophies and influence of legendary strength coaches, such as Juan JC Carlos Santana, Dan John, Mike Boyle, Alywn Cosgrove, and Pavel Tsatsouline.

My goal with this book is to explain what the Torch Workout is, the principles it revolves around, and what you can expect to get out of this style of training.
