About this ebook
Being Your Best - Queensland Senior Student Handbook - is an educational publication written by a Queensland student for Queensland students. It's a book that contains a method of achieving incredible things in senior school, both inside and outside of the classroom. The methods are based on a passionate desire to achieve your dreams, rather than relying on natural intelligence. The book gives more than just the naturally genius students access to incredible results. The author himself rose out of average grades and average results to achieve the highest results in Queensland senior school. This book is for those who want to be their best.
This is an excerpt from a section in the book entitled "The Disclaimer":
"Being your best in Year 12 is not easy. It's a year of hard, constant, relentless work. There are lots of ways to achieve the best academic results you possibly can, and this book outlines the only way that I know in depth - my way.
I'm not your average OP1 student. I'm not naturally intelligent, I work hard. My method involves research, dedication, organisation and persistence, and that was successful for me. Not everyone can achieve within those parameters. Being able to put a huge amount of dedication and persistence in depends on how much you want to be your best. Some people can not want it, not hunger for it, and not desire it like water they drink and the air they breathe, and still achieve incredible academic results. This book is not for those people. I am not one of them. I am not exceedingly intelligent, and I am unlike most OP1 students in this sense. I score fairly average scores on standardized tests. I achieve through smart study, organisation and sheer motivation. Especially motivation.
This book is for those who want it. This book is for those who won't see the year through passively - those who will attack every day and work like crazy because they really, really want it.
So, let's go over that. You need to want to be your best. I don't mean kind of want, you need to really want it. Almost anything can happen with motivation, I know that for a fact, and my results prove it. Without motivation, the journey is a lot harder. If you want to use this method, you have to want to be the best person that you can possibly be (both academically and more broadly). You have to be able to get up for early mornings, work harder than what your class mates tell you is normal, organise to the extent you will be called a freak, and most importantly, to understand that all this dedication, hard work and persistence will spill over into other areas of your life, and make you a more capable and resilient person. If this doesn't click with you, that's okay. It doesn't work for everyone. But I am going to tell you up front that this method probably will not work if this does not click with you.
It doesn't matter why you want it, you just have to want it. You can want it to get a university degree that will help support your family. You can want it to know you are with the academic cream of the crop. You can want it so that you can build a stable future for yourself. You can want it to make your family proud. It doesn't matter, as long as you have a reason: something that you think of whenever you feel drained, lost and empty; something that puts a fire in your soul.
Yes? Then let's go get those results."
