Hustle and Blog - Ashley Migneault

    Introduction

A blog can be an incredible platform to launch an idea, a brand, and a lifestyle.

The initial idea can be big or small, simple or complex – that’s the beauty of a blog! Debuting a brand new company, design business, e-course or consulting firm are no longer uncommon occurrences in the realm of lifestyle blogging. That being said, there are a lot of things to consider before crossing the line between hobby blogging, and blogging for profit. What works, anyway? And maybe more importantly: what doesn’t?

Is there some kind of formula for becoming a successful blogger?

In my first year of blogging, there were a lot of things that I tried that worked, which was awesome. But there were also a lot of ideas I had that inevitably turned into huge time and energy sucks, too. That’s what this book is about – it isn’t really here to promote a particular recipe for achieving success with your blog. Consider if more of an idea launching point or brainstorming session!

We all know that a lot of success in blogging comes down to luck, timing, and simply being consistent, something that I still struggle with over a year in. There is no fancy formula or check list that will transform you into a daily DIY making, check writing fashionista – but there is a never ending well of opportunities to grow your blog, your brand, and potentially, your full-time career.

Who is this E-Book Intended For?

Hustle and Blog is intended for:

    - Bloggers who have already decided on their blog name, niche and design.

    - Bloggers who may find themselves plateauing or losing steam.

    - Bloggers who are interested in advertising or monetization.

    - Bloggers who are interested in joining an advertising agency.

    - Bloggers who are interested in getting in touch with brands and companies for collaboration.

    Chapter 1

The Basics and Business of Blogging

Having a career in blogging is no longer the exception to the rule – its actually almost become commonplace for bloggers to consider their blog their job, their career, and their passion! This is both a good and a bad thing for those of us who have not yet hit that plateau.

Becoming a professional blogger is now more attainable than ever – which is good – however, there are now more of us doing it – which is bad. Five years ago, you would have had almost guaranteed success with a professional DSLR camera, a closet full of vintage clothing, and a halfway decent Blogger.com layout.

Nowadays, it takes much more to be noticed.

In a sea of like minded bloggers, how are you setting yourself apart? Why should a brand want to collaborate with you, instead of the thousands of other bloggers who are in or around the same level of success that you are?

If you can answer that question, you’re already one step above the rest!
