Incarnate: Episode 2

About this ebook
Mark was just a simple soul longing for what every kid may dream of; that he may one day he may accomplish his goals and taste the sweet nectar of success. “Success” as dictated to him by those who were always in control of his life. His dreams were simple. They were based on the basic ideas of love, knowledge, self-attainment and recognition.
He found himself broken, torn, and displaced within a society that only brought false hopes and shattered dreams. It would only be a matter of time before he would lose control and allow something stronger than himself, something residing in him, take full control and wreak havoc on the world.
José Ignacio Quiñones
A silly goose on a rampage, drifting through the quiet neighborhoods of his wretched town, wreaking havoc. His stereo bumps to random garbage, muffled by the old, beat up speakers of his Civic. As he drives off into the distance, with one hand on the wheel and the other on the Big Gulp, his mind, with extreme vengeance, crafts satirical pieces. He might be mental, but that’s the least of his worries since he’s running away from his past. It always comes back to haunt him with fond memories of old. But unlike stories that go untold, his past is going places.

I often spend most of my time day dreaming, lucidly imagining how I wish the world around me would be only to be abruptly shaken up by the unpleasant truth. The truth of life is that it does suck, and happiness always comes at a price. It is fair in relation to the viciousness of nature, but totally cheap when it comes to the expectation I have of society. I guess in the end it doesn’t really matter. It’s all about making things happen.
While my mind confused itself with idealistic ideas, the radio kept transmitting alternative rock through the beefed up Sony speakers I had acquired from my grandparents a while ago as a birthday gift. At that moment my mind couldn’t make any sense of the music that was playing in the background. It had turned into noise filling the background of my thoughts. It was garbled, it was just there lingering in my mind. I quickly nodded my head a couple of times so I could wake myself up from that mental snooze that had descended upon me like a bird of prey, like a vulture slowly tearing up the dead flesh covered walls of my brain.
I woke up from the deep sleep spell and slithered my way up. I dragged myself towards the bathroom located next door. My sight was still hazy. My eyes seemed to be uncooperative of my body as they were still longing for some shut eye only to be greeted by the harsh bright light from the morning sun. I opened the cold water faucet and rinsed my face, looked up, and landed my sight unto my own image reflected on the vanity mirror. Beyond that slender face a heavy sadness existed, it was the harbinger; the one that slowly tears apart all human existence with doubt. Everything had been relatively a new phenomenon to me.
