About this ebook
The Little Bible Heroes series of books is designed to bring many of the most important stories in the Bible down to a young child’s level. These stories are illustrated using children and childlike people to bring to life these amazing true stories. At the end of each story, children are asked questions about how to apply the principles of the story to their own lives.
Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, orders all of the Hebrew baby boys to be killed. One mother doesn’t want her baby boy to die. She makes a papyrus basket, coats it with clay and tar so it will float, and places the baby inside. The mother puts the basket in the reeds along the riverbank. She prays for God to take care of her baby. The mother also has a daughter named Miriam. Miriam is a very responsible sister and watches over her brother. Pharaoh’s daughter takes a bath in the river and sees the basket. The princess picks up the basket and says, “I will take care of this baby as my own.” Miriam runs to the princess and asks, “Would you like me to find a nurse for the baby?” “Yes,” replies the princess. Miriam is happy. Now her brother is safe. She tells her mother the good news. When the baby is older, his mother brings him to the princess. The princess names him Moses. Moses grows up to be a great leader of his people.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Little Bible Heroes Flip Over Book, Miriam/Daniel, is perfect to encourage your child in reading while introducing them to God’s word. With stories written for boys and girls, this book provides complex sentence structure and varied vocabulary to sharpen your child’s comprehension skills. There are discussion questions at the end to further conversation about how God works in people’s lives and scripture to reiterate His promises. I liked that Miriam and Daniel were portrayed as ordinary children who were obedient to God — readers can really relate! Cute and colorful illustrations are a big plus as well. I think this book is a good choice for young elementary aged children to read on their own or for family read-alongs.Recommended.Audience: children ages 4-8.(Thanks to B&H for a review copy.
