    Social Skills involved a lot more than just executing a technical skill set. Social thinking is an advanced pattern of thinking we use in all social situations. For most of us this pattern of thinking comes naturally. We have to put forth little effort to use our social thinking skills. For those with Autism this part of the brain is impaired. We have to work much harder at using our social thinking skills in order to be successful in social relationships.

    This book is all about social thinking. Having your child in counseling is one thing. In my experience counselors are not social skills coaches and are unable to assist those of us with Autism in learning the necessary social skills that we need. This book gives you some general knowledge ideas about social thinking along with some of my best practice ideas and solutions for teaching social thinking to your child with Autism.

    Social thinking analyzes the entire social situation. How do we know when it is our turn to speak? How do we know how far apart from someone to stand? How do we know what appropriate body language is for the situation we are in? How do we analyze all of these things.
