    This chapter provides the basic characteristics of selected artillery weapon systems, artillery reconnaissance, and artillery command and control (C2) systems in use or readily available to the OPFOR. Therefore, systems discussed in this chapter are those likely to be encountered by U.S. forces in varying levels of conflict. The selection of artillery systems is not intended to be all-inclusive, rather a representative sampling of weapons and equipment supporting various military capabilities. This update is divided into the following categories—artillery command and reconnaissance, towed cannon, self-propelled cannon, multiple-rocket launchers, mortars and combination guns, and artillery ammunition.
