    When I was done packing I followed Dad to one of his private jets. The pilot was already waiting for us. A few hours later we arrived at Cape Canaveral; from there we were taken to the Kennedy Space Center.
    “What are we doing here, Dad?”

    “My birthday present to you is a trip to space in the company of four prestigious astronauts. I know how much you like astronomy, and I thought this would be the perfect gift.”

    I was speechless with Dad’s surprise. The two of us were taken to a crash course on what to do and expect inside the space shuttle.

    The space shuttle was slowly rotating around our beautiful planet when all of a sudden we saw something coming straight at us.

    “What is that?” Dad and I asked the lady at the same time. She got closer to one of the windows and looked concerned.

    “Well, it’s too big to be an asteroid. I don’t know what it is!”

      LADY PAVIC

      All the fire places in Istria, Croatia were burning big amounts of wood. A dangerous blizzard was keeping everyone inside their homes.

      Well, except for my mother, who was desperately trying to protect me from the strong cold wind.

      She finally made it to one of the homes and knocked on the door as hard as she could.

      An old lady opened the door and as soon as she saw her carrying a baby, she let her in immediately.

      The lady helped my mother walk closer to the fireplace, and a couple of minutes later she brought dry clothes for Mom, and blankets for me.

      My mother was very sick and knew she was going to die soon. She quickly told the lady that my name was Klara and I was one month old. The lady was able to tell how sick she was and asked her about my father.
