NYC police officer, Mike Serrano, decides to visit his sister in the small town of Liberty, NY for some peace and quiet after the death of his fiancée, who was killed in a shootout. Mike inadvertently becomes involved in the investigation with his brother-in-law, Marty Pietri, a Sullivan County Sheriff's deputy - Mike's former partner with the NYPD. Born and raised in New York City, Martin A. Gonzalez had spent his early adult years reading the vivid stories of, Edgar Allan Poe, Stephen King & Robert McCammon, as well as appreciating good horror movies. Martin A. Gonzalez is a member of the Public Safety Writer’s Association, a graduate of SUNY Empire State, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a retired police officer from the New York City police department where many of his stories and ideas come from. He also credits his love of writing from horror stories and movies he watched and read growing up. Martin lives with his wife, Angie, and their German shepherd mix, Timber in the Catskills of Sullivan County, NY, and the father of two grown boys, Martin Jr. and Michael.
