I liked the boldness of the illustrations, where pretty much everything is outlined in black. Fun story about enlisting others to help solve a problem.

The book is about the wonderful friendship between a mouse and a rabbit. Wherever rabbit goes bad luck is with him, but they always find ideas about how to help each other, although these ideas are normally not very appropriate. The book does not need words necessarily, because the careful-made illustrations alone could tell us the story about the uncommon friendship between a rabbit and a mouse.

Wonderful story of a rabbit with ideas and adventure. I'd recommend this for circle time with children ages PK-K and a read-alone for children grades 1-2.

Poor rabbit everywhere he goes trouble seems to follow him. Rabbit gets his friend mouse's plane stuck in a tree. Not to worry says rabbit I've got an idea. Rabbit gathers all the animals and stacks them on top of each other. Thinking his plan was going to work all the animals fall over causing them to get very angry. At the end the rabbit says rabbit means well and he is my friend. This book teaches children no matter how many times your friend may mess up something you should never change the way you feel about them.

Mouse has a friend, Rabbit, who is always seeming to get into trouble. When rabbit gets his toy airplane stuck is a tree he decides the best way to reach it is to stack zoo animals on top of each other. Just as he reaches for the toy while standing on all of the animals, they fall. The animals are angry. Mouse saves his friend by scooping him up on the airplane and flying out of there. This story is great for PS-1 classes. Some pictures of the book is picture only and some includes a little text so it is perfect for transitioning into learning sight words. The theme of friendship shares with readers that good friends will always support and help you. When reading this to young children I would ask questions such as, "Why do you think mouse saved rabbit?" to get them thinking about the role of a friend and to help build a better classroom community.

My Friend Rabbit is always getting into trouble with his great ideas. Rabbit always has the best intentions but somehow trouble always seems to follow.

My Friend Rabbit is a picture book with little text about a mouse and his friend, Rabbit who no matter where he goes or what he does “trouble follows.” The short tale depicts what happens when Rabbit and Mouse find their toy airplane stuck in a tree and Rabbit has an idea to enlist the help of all of his animal friends to retrieve the airplane. The book’s colorful and humorous pictures guide the reader’s imagination to fill in the blanks of the story. For example, Rabbit’s idea is never fully revealed and the reader is left to determine by the pictures, why it was or was not a good idea. I liked this book because the illustrations were vibrant and clearly mapped out the story.

This book is about a mouse and a rabbit, it seems that whatever the mouse does he always gets into trouble. As he was trying to fly his airplane, it landed in a tree and got stuck. The rabbit came to the rescue and had an idea, he went off to get help from the other animals. The animals pushed and climbed on top of each other one by one to try to reach the airplane, just as they almost reach it they lost their balance, but just in time the rabbit tossed the mouse up into the air and he landed in the airplane and all the other animals tumbled to the ground. The animals are not very happy, but as the mouse tells the animals the rabbit is his friend and he means well. I really like this book, as it tells of friendship between the animals and shows examples of teamwork and loyalty. You could make paper airplanes and fly them outside or to each other in the classroom. Talk about how tall trees are and how things could get stuck in them.

Rabbit is always full of ideas--that always lead to trouble. How do his friends deal with Rabbit's antics? This book is a simple, relevant, and lighthearted look at friendships with flaws.

This book is about Mouse letting his friend Rabbit play with his brand-new airplane. Rabbit gets the air plane stuck in a tree and sets out to solve the problem, only that idea creates more problems. This book is good for children who play with older children and use their toys and who may know about troubled friendship. This is a great book and the illustrations are spectacular.

This is an adorable story about a rabbit and mouse friendship that survives its ups and downs (literally). Rabbit is known for getting into trouble, and when Mouse’s plane lands in a tree, Rabbit knows just what to do. The pictures tell the story of the planning, executing, and catastrophe that is sure to come. The emotions are clear on all the faces of the all the animals involved, no words necessary. Teaching ideas include: simple story mapping, character traits and development, telling the story through pictures rather than words, cause and effect relationships, and character emotion/feeling through illustration rather than words.

Mouse's friend, Rabbit, is always trying to be a good friend and have fun but trouble is always around the corner. When Rabbit tries to help Mouse fly in his airplane he gets him stuck high in a tree. So he brings all these animals to stack on top of each other to get him high enough to get Mouse out of the tree. With Mouse's help Rabbit gets out of trouble, only to leave the book in trouble again.A playful book with wonderful illustrations...earning it the Caldecott Medal. A book more for younger children than my 2nd graders. Though it is very charming and simple I just think it's too easy for them.

A book about a rabbit who always gets in trouble with something. He plays around with mouses airplane and gets caught in a tree so he has this great idea to bring back alot of animals to pile on top of each to get the airplane unstuck from the tree. Illustrations are great as always in Eric Rohmann's books.

Eric Rohmann does it again with this quirky little book about friendship. The story is told from Mouse's point of view, and he focuses on his best friend, Rabbit. While Rabbit means well, it seems like he is always landing them in somekind of trouble. His solutions sometimes cause more problems than they fix. This is a great book that emphasizes sticking by your friends, no matter how much of a jinx they might be or how annoying other people might find them.

A book of a friend who always gets into trouble no matter where he goes or what he does. Even with all the trouble rabbit get in mouse still stays his friend because he knows he means well. A great book to read about friendship. This would also be great to read and to discuss the illustrations of the book. The illustrations are a main part in the book because they tell the story at one point.

The story was mostly told though illustrations that were very vivid. The Rabbit turns out to cause more trouble sometimes trying to help, than he does good.

This story helps children see that good friends will go a long way to help you out. Friends will usually do anything for one another or go to any length. This story helps children see what a good friend is supposed to do and that is to just be loyal. Rabbit goes through great lengths to help his friend Mouse reach his airplane that is stuck high up in a tree. Animals pile on top of one another (whether they agree or not) to make a tower in order for Mouse to reach his plane. Read to your child this excellent story, "My Friend Rabbit," and teach them about what being a good friend is all about!

SUMMARY:A rabbit gets into trouble where ever he goes, whatever he does, but a little mouse remains his friend. PERSONAL REACTION:I loved that there were very few words in this book, instead the illustrations allowed the book to come to life. I appreciated the fact that we could see exactly what the story was saying just by flipping the page and observing the pictures. This would be a great book to suggest to beginning readers. EXTENSION IDEAS:This could support a lesson on being a good friend. Explain to the children that no matter what happened to rabbit, the mouse remained at his side as a friend. This could also be a great book to read around Easter, because it had great illustrations of a rabbit. The students could then draw or color their own rabbit as an Easter project.

Summary:The story is about a rabbit that always seems to find trouble. He is flying his plane one day and it gets stuck in the tree. Rabbit comes up with an idea and begins to drag animals to the tree. He stacks all the animals on top of each other. After stacking up all the animals the rabbit tries to reach the plane out of the tree but he still can’t reach it. The rabbit grabs a squirrel and the squirrel holds on to the mouse as they stretch out to reach the plane. But all of a sudden the stack of animals falls down. Rabbit has trouble follow him no matter where he goes. Personal Reaction: This book made me laugh multiple times. I liked the fact the rabbit tried to solve his own problems, although it was not completely thought out. This book made me think of my childhood when I would try out different ideas that turned out not to be such great ideas. Classroom Extension Ideas:1.I would use this book in a unit about problem solving. I would talk about how rabbit tries to solve his problem. I would ask the students how they would solve a couple of different problems that I thought up and then ask them what they think the outcome would be based on the answer they gave me.2.I would use this book in a unit about animals. Rabbit stacks up a lot of different kinds of animals. I would have the students name the animals off and they have each one tell me their favorite animal. I would have the students write a few sentences about their favorite animal.

Rabbit and his idea of how to get his friend mouse's airplane out of the tree, ends with a big mess he made. And in his attempts to give his friend a hug, he causes even more trouble. This story used pictures to fill in the blanks of the story. The pictures of the animals were very realistic, and the lines showed a lot of action and movements. In the classroom, the children can give their version in words what is taking place in the pictures. They can also discuss how people mean well when they help each other, but how they have to think about what they outcome may be.

Wherever rabbit goes trouble seems to follow. Rabbit and mouse were playing outside with an airplane, and the airplane got stuck in a tall tree. Rabbit had a wonderful idea and it was to gather up many animals to stack on top of each other, well it wasn’t such a good idea because all of the animals came toppling down on one another. Rabbit and mouse got the airplane down but found themselves in trouble once again. I really like this story between rabbit and mouse and how they are really trying to think hard about how to get that airplane from the tree. However, there are many pages in this book with no words, I feel kind of awkward reading it, so I need to figure out if I need to just show the pictures or explain what is happening in the pictures when I read the book. In the classroom, I would have the children make different animal puppets with paper sacks. Also, I think this would be a good book to perform a puppet show for the children.

Rabbit and Mouse are friends forever and Mouse's little airplane gets stuck in a tree and he cannot get it down. So Rabbit has an idea to get Mouse's plane. Rabbit brought an elephant, a rhinoceros, a hippo, a duck and her four babies, a deer, a squirrel, an alligator, and a bear to pile up high to get Mouse's airplane. The squirrel lifted Mouse up to reach the plane and then all of the animals fell. And Mouse got stuck with his airplane. The animals were mad at Rabbit. But Mouse is still Rabbit's friend because Rabbit tried to help Mouse get his airplane. This is a laugh out loud book, that my students beg me to read time and again. They love how trouble seems to follow Rabbit.

The story is about a rabbit and a mouse trying to adventure the world by plane. The troubles always follow them. The plots are funny and interesting. The words are simple while the illustrations are complex and very eye-catching. The story also teaches the value of friendship to children reading the book. Great book for kids aged from 0-5.
