Introduction
Becoming a mother is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences of your lifetime. However, when you bring home your newborn child, especially if it’s your first child, there are a lot of challenges ahead of you. As a parent, there are a lot of decisions which you’re going to have to make about how you care for and raise your child, from the moment they come home from the hospital until the time that they move into a home of their own and start living independently.
One of the first and also one of the most important decisions which you’ll have to make about caring for your child is whether to breast feed or bottle feed your new baby. There are a lot of benefits to breast feeding, as you may have heard – and if you’re like most new mothers, you probably also have a lot of questions and a lot of concerns about breastfeeding your child.
Before we go any further, let’s get one very important piece of advice out of the way. We’ll say this time and time again throughout the report, since it definitely bears repeating: don’t give up! It isn’t always easy to breast feed your baby, particularly when you’re a new mother and are just trying to get used to caring for a newborn baby.
It can be frustrating at first, but no matter how hard of a time you’re having getting your baby to breast feed, don’t give up – the benefits of breast feeding are well worth the time and effort involved. Keep in mind that breast feeding is something that mothers have done for many thousands of years; it takes a little practice and can be uncomfortable at first, but
