It’s a book on how to promote your business, what’d you think I was going to put here?
INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is David Roberts and I am a QuickBooks Pro-Advisor, a Certified Profit and Growth Expert, an e-book author and I write fiction thrillers as well. Promoting yourself on social media can be a lot of work, it can also be expensive too and you will end up spending a lot of money for very little results.
Don’t do that.
Most of what I have included in this little book are free tools and how to use them. I have seen the Twitter following on some of my accounts explode by just using some of these tips. Trust me, it works, read on and follow these steps.
The purpose of this little book is to pass on just a little of what I have learned about promoting my business on Twitter and Facebook. I am no expert, in fact, you might even consider me superbly qualified on how NOT to promote business. I spent over six months in Twitter jail because I was following over 2000 different people and only had 997 followers myself. In Twitter jail, there is no reprieve, no parole, and no pardon. There you remain until your followers out pace your followees.
There are plenty of mistakes to make and believe me I have made them all. Beginners make several mistakes in promoting their business and one of those mistakes (yes I have made the mistake too) is to follow those who won’t lead to potential customers, more sales. Some beginners even deem Twitter a waste of time. Let me clear that up now. It is not.
But it takes time. You need that time as a business owner to build a following. Sometimes it may take years. Giving up on it because it doesn’t yield immediate results is like closing your business down because there were no sales on your first day. You can’t do that. Patience is a virtue. And work. You can’t open up a social media account and expect customers to flock to your door step.
Another mistake beginners make is on Facebook. They follow or ‘like’ any page or business themed page and begin a massive spamming effort by posting links sometimes eight or nine at a time.
