There are also "Do and Don’t" sections at the end of each chapter that provide guidance for handling the types of cases examined.       WARNING: do not read this book unless you are pursuing a career in law enforcement, medical pathology, forensics or something of the like. The pictures in this book are very graphic – real life photographs of investigative scenes - to accurately represent what may be seen in a variety of cases. (I do have to wonder however how much this would affect someone who watches TV shows like Dexter, CSI, etc. Media nowadays can get pretty graphic too.) I enjoyed this book because it’s a wealth of information pertaining to my internship at the Coroner’s Office. Being able to read about certain cases and then seeing it in front of my eyes has helped me understand exactly what I am seeing and why it looks or feels or smells the way it does. As a beginner to these topics with no medical school behind me, there were some chapters that went over my head, but for the most part I was able to understand most of this book with only a history of anatomy and osteology classes. It was very informative.
