      Introduction

      There are lots of advantages to owning and operating a membership site.  Once set up, they're easy to maintain.  Membership sites can provide recurring, passive income (also known as 'evergreen income') and perhaps most importantly the member and revenue growth can be exponential.

      For example, let's say that you add one member a day to your membership site with a monthly membership fee of $10.  By the end of month one you'll have 30 members for a total revenue stream of $300 (30 x $10).

      By the end of the second month you'll have 60 members for a total revenue stream of $600, and by the end of the third month you'll have 90 members for a total revenue stream of $900.  In your first three months you will have grossed $1800 in membership fees.

      Yes, some members may be canceled or fall off for various reasons, but in this quick and easy example you can get the picture of just how quickly the membership fees being paid to you can add up . . . and just how lucrative membership sites can be.

      If you're reading this book then I'm going to make an educated guess that you've been thinking about creating a membership site - probably for some time now - but just haven't gotten around to it yet, and your investing in this ebook is one of your first steps to membership site success.  Before you jump in feet first, let's take a little time and review in a bit more detail exactly why people just like yourself make membership sites - and how advantageous the benefits of having a member site can be.

      To begin with, and regardless of whether you're creating a membership site as a for profit site or simply as a way to get people of similar interests together, membership sites offer a quick and easy to communicate and socialize with your users.  That's because a member site allows you, the operator, to develop a close-knit community of people that have like minded interests.  In addition to this same mindedness, an additional glue or bond that holds all of your members together is that they may have paid some money or opted into one of your lists - in other words, they've jumped through some kind of hoop - to become involved in your membership site.

      The second benefit to you of owning and operating a membership site is that these types of sites are extremely easy to keep updated with timely, relevant and useful information and material, the kind of stuff that will keep your members attracted to your site and willing to keep paying you their monthly membership site dues.  Yes, membership sites can require a bit more work than publishing an ebook or guide, but the odds are you will be much more richly rewarded with a member site, since ebooks or videos can go out of date fairly quickly, depending on the niche that you are targeting.
