The World's Greatest Fisherman

About this ebook
Jesus came to earth to seek and save those who are lost. He called his disciples together, and taught them how to fish for man’s soul. Jesus did not see a sinner he did not try to save. This book will help you in your Christian journey and your walk with the Lord. While you were living in your sins, the Savior was seeking after you. He fed the multitude, gave them not only physical food, but spiritual food. He healed the sick, restored sight to the blind, those with physical illnesses, he healed them, and he touched many lives and transformed them into saints, building up the kingdom of God. While on earth Jesus before he began his earthly ministry turned water into wine at a wedding feast. This wine represented his blood he would later shed on a tree called a cross, to save a dying world. While dying on the cross, he stopped long enough to grant a dying thief his final wish, to be saved into God’s kingdom. Because of God’s great love for the mankind, he took your place upon the cross, to save you from sin. Jesus bids you come and follow him, you are to work in God’s vineyard, become a fisher of men, and one day if you are faithful, you will run to Jesus at his second coming and thank him for being the world’s greatest Fisherman.

Verna was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the West Indies. She spent most of the years of her life in her adopted country, the United States of America. One of Verna’s favorite books to read is the bible. She believes Jesus is coming back soon, and wants to see as many people as possible accept the gift of salvation, Jesus Christ the Savior of the world, turn from their sins, and follow the Lord. Verna would like to tear Satan’s kingdom down, several souls at a time, while building up the kingdom of God. She prays that the books the Lord has given her to write will help you, and point you to the true treasure, the fountain of youth, the Lamb of God, whose blood can wash you whiter than snow.

The World's Greatest Fisherman - Verna E. MacKay
INTRODUCTION
Jesus is the Savior of the Word and he fishes for the sinner, in need of saving. Jesus said he came to this world to seek and save the lost. He said he did not come to call those who were righteous, but those sinners who needed to repent of their sins and be saved.
Jesus stated that if you were not sick you did not need a doctor, but those who are sick are the ones who need a doctor. The bible states, And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Luke 5:31, 32.
Chapter 1
Jesus Forty Days Of Fasting
Jesus the Son of God, the promised Messiah came to John the Baptizer to be baptized even though he did not need to repent of any sins took the place of those who never had a chance to be baptized, before they died. Jesus did not have to be baptized; he took our place and our sins and guilt was placed upon him, even before he started his earthly ministry.
Jesus came to set an example for you to follow, and by being baptized, showed us that baptism is full submersion under water. It is an out word showing of your love and wiliness to follow the world’s greatest Fisherman, Jesus Christ. It shows the dying of the old you, your old way of living and taking on the garments of Jesus’ righteousness, taking up your cross and following the Master.
After the baptism of Jesus and the acknowledgement of God the Father, the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, and John the Baptist acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God, the Holy Spirit drove him into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.
Mark 1:12.
Jesus fasted for forty days and nights, he was very hungry, which put him in a venerable spot. Imagine not eating for forty days. Most of us would have eaten just about anything we could get our hands on and our teeth into to satisfy our hunger. Some of us cannot even go a day without eating; it would seem like the end of the world. It is at your weakest moment, your weakest point that the devil tries to get you to sin, or to take advantage of the opportunity to hurt you and to destroy you. . I am very happy that Jesus gained the victory over the devil while in the wilderness. It was not an easy time for our Savior; it was very difficult and hard. He stood against the enemy and because of Jesus we too can gain the victory of the devil.
Appetite got our first parents Adam and Eve in trouble, by eating a fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, God told them not to eat from, but through disobedience, did exactly what God commanded them not to do. This disobedience plunged the entire world into sin. Jesus had to come to earth to restore the human race to the God who loves us very much. One of the temptations of the devil was to command Jesus to turn the stones into bread, and Jesus met him with scripture that man shall not live by bread alone See Matthew 4:4
Appetite will get us into trouble every time, because we love to eat, we feast on the wrong things, and even the things that are good for us, we over indulge in it. It does not have
