About this ebook
The mission of the Army Postal Service is to assure adequate postal service for the Army of the United States. Sections in this field manual provide information on the following: general provisions; organization and personnel; addressing of personal and official military mail; postal service for posts, camps, and stations located in zone of the interior; embarkation Army post offices; postal service in theaters of operations or independent oversea commands; locator card files and directory service; V-mail service; registered, insured, and C.O.D. mail; Army courier service; oversea cable and radio messages; and miscellaneous provisions. The appendix is a general agreement between the U.S. Post Office Department and the War Department concerning Army Postal Service."
