About this ebook

Todays 'free-market' philosophy of one-dollar-one-vote has all but eclipsed the traditional one-person-one-vote values of our grandparents’ generations. Our democratic and humanitarian concepts of 'all for one, one for all' and 'we're all in this together' have all but vanished.
It's not my intention to start a political discussion about the rights and wrongs of national or international fiscal policies. I do not wish to delve into the wheeler-dealing of money markets and the distribution of corporate wealth.
Nope. That is not what this book is about.
Nevertheless, I will challenge the statement that 'Greed is good.' And by so doing, explain how I believe we can all, on a very personal level, benefit from a philosophy that is quite the opposite.
Indeed, I am going to show you how generosity expedites wealth creation. But to do that, first we need to understand what generosity is.

Big shout to my literary alter ego, Adam, who helps me to get some of my secular ideas into print while I continue to work hard on my spiritual books. He makes DavidWritesALot.com a more efficient machine.

    INTRODUCTION

There is overwhelming evidence that the higher the level of self-esteem, the more likely one will be to treat others with respect, kindness, and generosity.

    (Nathanial Brandon. April 9, 1930 – December 3, 2014. Canadian-American psychotherapist.)

Way back in 2007, an article appeared in the Huffington Post about the shock waves created all across America by a single quote from the hit box office movie, 'Wall Street.' Dave Johnson, the author of the article, recalled the surge of outraged voices who rallied against a stance that quite blatantly exposed the financial audacity of an entire era.

The quote, spoken by the film's main character, the now infamous Gordon Geko, went like this:

    'Greed is good.
