Getting a Route
So much had happened in the last few months.
On a lark, Melianna had applied to be a flight attendant for Cecil Airlines.
To her amazement, she was accepted. Within weeks she found herself flying from New Jersey to San Antonio, Texas for her training.
The training was hard but the good friends she made were worth it.
An especially good friend was Jenny Chu from San Diego, California. Melianna and Jenny ended up sharing an apartment with Jan Sims and Marina LeFleur who were also flight attendants for Cecil.
Melianna had done well on her first few flights and now she was eager to see where she would be assigned.
Ms. Murphy had called all of the recent graduates to a meeting.
As you can tell, there are now thirty of you, not thirty-one. After a few flights, Mindy Thomas found that she couldn’t get used to taking off and landing so many times a day.
I have placed the rest of you in varied assignments. I still want you working with lots of experienced people.
She went down the list.
Melianna Moore, you will be flying to Logan Airport in Boston. Jenny Chu, you will be going to O’Hare in Chicago.
Isn’t this something, Jenny?
whispered Melianna. I don’t understand why I had to come to San Antonio to fly to the Northeast, when the East Coast is where I came from.
Ms. Murphy overheard her.
