Este libro corrige la doctrina de los derechos humanos mediante la presentación de una teoría de los derechos humanos determinada por el método científico. Es decir, primero son descubiertos los axiomas aplicables y luego una teoría completa se construye basado en ellos por deducción. No se incorporan ningunos valores personales ni moralidad que arruinaría su objetividad. La teoría resultante es diferente de la doctrina prevalente sobre los derechos humanos que incorpora valores, moralidad y visiones de utopía. El libro muestra que algunos derechos proclamados son falsos y dedica un capítulo a exponerlos. La implementación de la teoría se describe en términos de principios generales y un suplemento aplica la teoría a diez temas actuales que van desde la pena de muerte a la circuncisión y a la pobreza mundial.
El libro es valioso no sólo a los estudiantes de los derechos humanos, mostrándoles una teoría alternativa de los derechos, sino también a cualquier persona que desea saber cuáles derechos fundamentales tiene como persona.
