    "The Filipino Tanaga" is the sixth volume of the Bright Dreams Journal. It is written by Gary R. Hess. The journal includes poetry about God, religion, justice, inspiration and more. All poems are written in the form of the tanaga, a traditional Filipino "tula" (meaning "poem" in Tagalog, the Philippines largest spoken language).

    Author Gary R. Hess said, "'The Filipino Tanaga' is dedicated to my Filipino wife and to all the great Filipinos in my life. The Philippines is my second home, and I couldn't find a better way to show my love than to dedicate a volume of the Bright Dreams Journal to what I consider the nation's poetry form.

    Gary R. Hess

    Gary R. Hess was born in Iola and raised on a small farm in rural Southeast Kansas. After studying at Neosho County Community College and Angelo State University, he worked as a freelance author before travelling across the Eastern Hemisphere. He is an American poet who has been active for more than sixteen years. Mr. Hess is currently living in the Philippines and working as an ESL instructor and holding workshops on American English.
