    My Story

The about the author section highlights my credentials and some basic background information on me. Basically what I do professionally. Before we really get into the principles that will change and improve your diet forever, I want to take a brief moment and tell you more about what I do as far as my diet and exercise are concerned. When it comes to this, I am not your typical fitness professional. I am more like you than like the drill-sergeant personal trainer at your local gym. I don’t love exercise and I certainly don’t like eating good. What I love are the results of hard exercise and controlling my diet through The Calorie-Budgeting System. I would much rather eat pizza than grilled chicken and I would much rather hang out with my wife and kids or my friends than to go for a run or a workout. I like to say that I am a normal person who figured out how to get in shape. I feel that the health and fitness industry has failed you, the consumer. They have told you that you can only get in and stay in good shape if you eat perfect and if you exercise 24/7. Basically, they have told you that you have to be perfect to get results. What does all of this perfection produce? Failure... Especially with diet. A perfect diet is not attainable and if you try it, you will quit. So, I think the goal is to do good with your diet, not perfect. Do good forever, not great for a short time. With your exercise, the goal is to work very, very hard, but also have some scheduled time off. Work as hard as you can without getting burned-out. If you get burned out, then you quit. The best diet and exercise plan in the world is useless if you quit and are not using it. I will explore some of this more later in the book, but I wanted to point out a little of my philosophy as I tell you more about what I do.

I am very consistent with my exercise. I work super hard 4-6 days per week and usually have a day or 2 off from regular exercise every week. On a normal day, I do 15-20 minutes of very high-intensity cardio (mostly running), a 30 minute workout (usually a Fat Blast workout or a 301 Workout), and I budget my calories. I don’t eat great, I eat good and I budget my calories effectively so that I can spend them on foods I love, especially pizza. On a typical day, I only eat 1 meal. Yes, you read that correct. That was not a typo. Most days I have a cup of coffee in the morning, I drink a lot of water, I eat dinner, and I take Juice Plus+ whole food fruit and vegetable capsules. I cheat very regularly on my diet. I probably cheat more than most of you reading this book. The difference is that I don’t ever waste calories, even on healthy foods. Basically, my good is much better than most people’s good, which enables me to cheat more than most people with little damage from the cheat. I have perfected The Calorie-Budgeting system to a level that allows me to get to eat foods I love on a regular basis. I also work extremely hard and am very consistent with my exercise, thus providing an atmosphere that takes the pressure off of the diet. After reading this book (and possibly my other book, Diet and Exercise Myths Exposed), this will all make much more sense.

    Find Your Happiness Balance

You have heard along the way to get in better shape you have to exercise and diet. Well, that is true. But to what extent that is true is dependent on the person. Traditionally, you will hear that you are wasting your time if you are only exercising and not dieting at all. You also are wasting your time if you are only going on a diet and not exercising at all. There is truth to
