SYNOPSIS OF ZOMBIE SPRING: General Cartwright Jones, has been given an impossible task. He is under orders to take his 50,000 man army into LA and clean out the Zombie infection which is due to go airborne in just four days. If he cannot complete his mission on schedule, the President has made it clear he will solve the problem through nuclear depopulation. Arrayed against him are several hundred thousand of the Undead and over ten million southern Californians that may turn at any moment. The Canadian army has crossed our northern borders, three brigades of Mexican Special Forces are headed towards San Diego on our southern border, and the virus has found a toehold in the east. Jones has his hands more than full, but on top of all this, he has another big problem. No general worth his salt attacks an enemy head-on while forgetting his backside, but he needs every veteran combat troop he has for the vanguard. All there is left to man his rearguard are the band, the company of dramatic actors, an infantry second lieutenant on his first day of active service, his cowboy friend, an attractive science officer, and a bunch of UCLA coeds. This then, is the tale of two mammoth battles waged on two fronts: I-Corps Battle for LA and the Battle for Joyous Gard, the castle like fortification built by the rearguard to protect the general and the Army of the West. PROFILER: To help people decide whether or not they might enjoy my series, I try to profile interested readers and steer away those who might be better off looking elsewhere. The Zombie Spring Series is a Zombie Lite version of the Zombie genre. Yes, it has plenty of gore and huge battles, but much of what I write is meant to be humorous. Mine is not a dour world-view of what would happen. The content is centered around happy, upbeat young people, who think they can win against all odds and maybe make a better life for themselves. If you like happy stories with a little romance interspersed with lots of military blood and guts, then you’re in the right place. So who might not enjoy this book? Fans of the movie: The Road or the Walking Dead might consider looking elsewhere for their entertainment. If you liked Warm Bodies, Zombieland with Woody Harrelson, or Abraham Lincoln vs. the Zombies then you are more likely to have a nice evening pouring through these pages. Roland Thomas Type IV is the exciting, final sequel to the Zombie Spring and Trooper Tyree saga. This last sequel is a continuation of Chapter 14, “The Song of Roland,” from the series starter, “Zombie Spring.” The 3rd book in the series follows the adventures of Colonel Roland Thomas after he was infected and Turned during the Battle for LA. As the world’s first Type IV, Zombie, he finds that he has a much to offer the human race, and soon the Living begin to think of him as Mankind’s second chance. Thomas’ arrival coincides with the arrival of villains from the first book: Ben Arnold and Aroneia Burr. Ben is the world’s second Type IV, but whereas Thomas fights for the Living, Arnold has his own agenda with the Dead. Thus begins a 16 year struggle of building walls and vast armies, that eventually involves the children of all the main characters in books 1 and 2. The kids, Thomas’ Zombie Brigade, and six aging infantry corps take on the might of Ben Arnold’s Empire of the Dead and refight a famous old battle from the past, in the swamps of Louisiana. How is this book different than the other two? RT Type IV occasionally leaves the world of horror, Zombies, pitched battles, and death and enters a more thoughtful domain of convoluted science and perhaps fantasy which I believe, breaks some new ground in Zombie lore. RT Type IV is divided into 3 sections: The Arrival, Sixteen Years Later, and the War Moves East. Readers new to the series should start with book 1 and then 2. That way you will understand the characters. There are many of them, and most of them span all three books. Roland Thomas Type IV might be a standalone book, but for your greatest enjoyment, at least read the Trooper Tyree sequel because more characters migrate from that book than book 1. Matt Damon, Christian Bale, and Viggo Mortenson are great actors, but I think they’d pass on an offer to star in my series.

Zombie Spring's Trooper Tyree is the first sequel to Zombie Spring published in 2012. This sequel continues the perilous adventures of Trooper Tyree and Hettie Younger from the first book's Chapter XII: First Blood LA. In that chapter, two veteran infantrymen were cut off from their unit and trapped in a Motel 6 by a large number of Undead. This was shortly before the H-Bomb was dropped on San Diego and the devastating mega earthquake that followed. These two soldiers, Trooper Tyree and Hettie Younger must survive the ravenous hunger of the Undead and live through the firestorm of man-made and natural disasters that completely destroy LA, while gathering together small bands of trapped infantrymen to rescue some school children just back from a field trip. ZSTT also continues the story of Lieutenant Shasta Maddy and her surviving gun crews that were forced to flee from Fire Base Indio in ZS Chapter XIV, Saga: The Song of Roland. You will discover a little bit more about the crooked politician Ben Arnold and his crusade against Trooper Tyree and his eventual election to the US Senate. Chris, Cowboy Buck Smiley Bellew, General Cartwright Jones, Albie Lincoln and Admiral Dewey round out this cast of interesting characters from the first book. There are many new and interesting characters introduced to ZSTT such as the elite soldiers Bluto, Chopper, Jericho, China and Pig Pen who will appear again in the second and final sequel due out in 2013. The final sequel will be called Zombie Spring's Roland Thomas Type IV, and it will feature Colonel Roland Thomas who was infected and killed in book one. Thomas becomes a Zombie trooper, but one with special abilities: A first of his kind and a game changer in the war against the Dead.
