Herbs for Depression and Anxiety
()
About this ebook
Depression, anxiety and stress are so commonplace these days. 5% of the adult population suffers from some or other form of mental agitation, on a clinical level, and it appears to many, that peace of mind is a thing of the past.
However, nothing is further from the truth!
You can regain your peace of mind and it starts with re-empowering yourself!
For many people, they are suffering so much that allopathic medications become a necessary evil. While allopathic medications have their place, in mental health relief, they are only a short-term solution.
If you want a long-term solution then read this book. It covers a wide range of herbal remedies, which can both reduce the dependence on allopathic medications and also act as a preventative, in the case of people who are feeling some of the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.
These herbal remedies act as natural anti-depressants and anxiolytics, whereby you get the relief from the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, but you get very few side effects, which cannot be said for allopathic medications.
While allopathic medications can be effective in the short-term, in the long-term they produce a plethora of side effects which often result both in a weakening of the immunity system and physical health, as well as resulting in chemical dependency issues!
Herbs on the other hand also produce relief from the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, but they rarely produce any negative effects on either immunity or physical health and also they don’t produce chemical dependency issues!
Dermot Farrell
I was born and raised in Ireland. I first took an interest in mental health back in the 1990’s when I studied psychoanalytic studies, hypnotherapy and clinical psychoanalytical psychotherapy. While I learned a great deal about the workings of the mind, at this time, my interest in healing encouraged me to attend classes in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, finally culminating in a clinical diploma in 2005.Since then I have run a TCM (Traditional Chinese Medical) clinic for a considerable period of time and also I have taken to writing about a variety of topics.I have learned, from experience, the importance of balance in the three key domains of our life, which are physical, mental-emotional and spiritual well-being. My approach to healing is infinitely practical and is based upon the need to balance each of these aspects of our life, in order to regain a balanced state.Furthermore, I am interested in moving the western/eastern medical discourse forward. Believing in the virtue of both western (allopathic) and eastern (complimentary) healing systems, I am continually pushing for an integrated approach to healing. As the old saying goes “doctors differ, patients die!” demonstrates the need for everyone, who is interested in health and healing, to work together towards learning more about the causes of ill-health and the techniques of re-balancing health and reaching out in a humanistic way to help our patients regain their health. As well as my interest in healing I possess an interest in spirituality too. In 1999 I began my meditation journey, in an Indian system of Raja Yoga, known as Sahaj Marg. With an ardent interest in spirituality as well as physical, mental and emotional healing, I am presently residing in India with my wife and son.I have a website www.healbodymindandspirit.com where I write articles about these topicsRegarding this website, I set it up with the intention of helping to share my knowledge and my experiences in these three pillars of human existence, which are physical, mental-emotional and spiritual aspects of life. I don’t claim to be an ‘expert’ on every subject which I write about on this website, however, it is my intention to disseminate information which helps the visitors to this site, to make a better go at dealing with life challenges. Also, this blog is a journey for me, as every time I research information in an effort to produce some site content, it forces me to think and explore and work on some of my concepts and lifestyle routines. So www.healbodymindandspirit.com is as much a journey as anything else. Also, there are lots of great sites out there which talk about physical health or mental health or spiritual well-being, but no sites, which I know of anyway, which focus upon the integration of all three. And it seems obvious to me that to progress in life we need good health, and that to achieve anything we need the right mind-set and to possess peace of mind, we have to be spiritually connected. So this site is a work in progress and an attempt to be a part of this discourse, of this global dialogue of human beings in an effort to progress their lives. So welcome aboard, and feel free to comment at any time, as I am always really interested in hearing from you, the visitors, about your feelings, comments and suggestions. Thanks for dropping by and have a nice day!Dermot Farrell
