About this ebook
¿Sabéis Aquel...? 20 Jokes with Vocabulary for Spanish-speaking Students of English is based on the author's more than 25 years' experience of teaching English in Barcelona. It is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to learn English as a foreign (or second) language. The book is easy to use and includes English-to-Spanish translations of more than 300 useful words and phrases.
Enjoyment is important in learning a language; if the process is just a chore, you learn and remember less than you otherwise might. What a pity that jokes, games, and stories are so often used in schools simply as warm-up activities (or to fill up the last few minutes of a lesson) rather than as a fun way to learn without realizing it. Let’s change that!
This book is intended to provide you with the opportunity to practice, revise, and reinforce your English. Of course, you can use it simply for reading; but the main aim of the book is to encourage you to communicate. It will help you to focus a bit less on grammatical construction and much more on how to speak English in real life.
Use this book to improve your English vocabulary, practice speaking, have fun, and entertain your friends all in one!
Catherine Hart
Catherine worked as an English teacher and translator in Barcelona for more than 25 years, running her own school for 8 of those years. She is currently living in the U.K. but expects to return to Barcelona soon. Sabéis Aquel is her first published e-book although she has had a number of short stories published in magazines. Her hobby is photography; she has a very large collection of photos from the streets of Barcelona... probably the subject of her next e-book.
