I'm an artist primarily, but have always enjoyed stories, no matter what form they are in. I'm also a keen musician, and enjoyed both playing and watching live music. I'm also in the very early stages of developing a low budget film about a local legend.I have always had a love for imagination, creativity, and any outlet that allows this, is certainly worth exploring. I enjoy swimming, cooking and socializing whenever possible.

    Foreword

Let’s be clear, I’m a hack, a charlatan, a fraud. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing. I have no professional writing experience, and I merely did okay in English language and literature at school. My vocabulary and grammar is way off and is only corrected by spell and grammar checking, and a trusty online dictionary and thesaurus. I’m an okay artist too. I don’t have a unique, identifiable style, and unless I sign it, you probably won’t know if I created the image or not.

So now I’ve got that little disclaimer out of the way, we can get down to some brass tax.

I love art. I love creativity in whatever form it comes. I love creating images from found objects and paint, and photography, and digital manipulation. An image should not only capture a moment in time, but also a feeling, or trigger a response from the viewer. That response may be familiarity, or joy, or sadness, or anger, or understanding. If you get a response, any response, that image has worked, even if it’s just for one person. That person will remember that image, it will be burned into their subconscious, and they will take something away with them. That is the mark of good art, in my very humble opinion.

I love stories. Ever since my Grandmother used to read fairy tales and fables to me when I was young, I’ve always loved stories. That could be in books, films and television, poetry, spoken word, music, or even an image. Stories take us to another place, where we can escape for a brief time, away
