The series so far in the words of reviewers:
Book 1 The Accidental Author: Permafree
"It's like we are having a valuable conversation with a friend who knows what she's talking about, rather than being instructed from on high."
"I think Ms. Butfield can add mentor, inspirational speaker, cheerleader and eternal optimist to her lists of credentials. As I devoured the words of this book, I felt a kinship to the author on a personal and professional level. With a kind and open heart she shares the gold nuggets of her wisdom and experience."
Book 2 The Amateur Authorpreneur:
"In this guide to the What, Why, When, Where, Who and How of self publishing, Sarah Jane Butfield really gets down to the nitty gritty. She begins with a general, and very useful, outline of the needs of a new writer trying to promote their book, and then she goes on to the first few items on her list and examines each of them in detail, especially Twitter, Facebook, and blogs. I have been a published writer for several years now and have read a good many books and blog posts about promoting books, but none of them have covered so much ground so clearly as this one."
"Sarah Jane is a very talented writer and I now have all the books that she has written so far. This book gives you a boost and makes you think outside the box. An amazing book and well worth a read."
Book 3 The Intermediate Authorpreneur:
ARC Readers said:
"This guide is just what I needed to set my goals for the future"
"I am awe of what an indie author has to know and do on a daily basis, as a reader I applaud you all."
"A valuable guide and essential reading for all new authors or those that need to refocus their social media presence."
"The evidence based graphs and statistics were a nice, reassuring touch. Sarah definitely keeps it real."

Dedication
This book is dedicated to all self-published authors.
The process of writing a book that is intended to help aspiring and new authors as they enter the world of self-publishing is a humbling experience. Authors work particularly hard on their first book with regular episodes of self-doubt and even anxiety about a number of aspects of the writing and publishing process. However, the marketing and promotion of the book often becomes overwhelming in the early stages. More experienced authors in groups and forums will say, ‘You need to do this’ or ‘You must be here’ and that’s great. The sharing of advice for growth and exposure is key to the future prospects of the author and their books, but few authors take the time to say, ‘Do you know how to open a Google + account?’ Or ‘Do you know how to analyse your tweets to increase the number of retweets?’ These are just a couple of examples and because of the pressure not to appear naive in these early weeks and months, it is easy to spot authors floundering on social media unsure of the direction or methodology they should take. By sharing my experiences and, as we move forward, those of the authors we help at Rukia Publishing, it is rewarding to receive messages such as, I picked up book one free and after reading it I knew that I could do this. I have now bought book two.
Or I downloaded it by accident and then realised I needed it, thank you.
There is a saying that I have heard many times in my business career and it is, There is no such thing as a stupid question.
This is especially true for a new venture. As we move through book three and form our writing business, remember:
The scariest moment is always just before you start.
Stephen King
Without promotion something terrible happens... Nothing!

A professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit. ~

Acknowledgements
It still seems quite surreal and induces feelings of thankfulness that I have had the privilege, since 2013 to be able to call myself ‘an author’. Titles or labels are part of society and for the majority of my working life my titles have mainly consisted of variations on nurse or mum! I know that the work I do today as an author and mentor to self-published authors would not be possible without the help and support of not only my family and friends, but also my peer group network, which grows on a daily basis. I would therefore like to acknowledge that support with a very big, heartfelt, thank you.
On a professional level I would like to say thank you to my editor Martin Papworth. An honest, gracious and hardworking gentleman who has enhanced my work and reputation since we joined forces.
I also need to thank the following people and groups for either allowing me to quote them in this book or for helping on my writing journey to date.
