You imagine that everyone wants to be happy, but that is not the case. Many people don’t actively want to be happy. They haven’t made happiness one of their priorities. They haven’t even made it one of their objectives. Therefore, happiness escapes them.
You want to be happy: congratulations! That is the first step.

Many books promise to deliver the secret to happiness, and there are even several works whose titles include key and happiness. Out of all of these books, you have chosen this one. I don’t know if it is luck or your natural sagacity, but you have made the right choice. By opting for this book, you have shown excellent intuition and very good judgement: you have hit the bullseye.
One often says, and one is often right to say, that happiness is primarily an internal thing. To have lasting happiness, there is a mindset to attain. A way of thinking. A state of mind. This state of mind is the mindset of happy people. If you delve deeply into this state of mind and make it your own, you will be happy, because you will think and will therefore act like happy people do. It’s as simple as that.
