About this ebook

After hitting a hunky stranger with her rented Prius in the wilds of Alaska, Kendra hardly expected to end up in bed with him. Even less did she think to find herself pregnant a few weeks later. But when she goes back to the cold north to tell the gruff, mysterious Lorne that he's going to be a father, she discovers that the surprises in her life are just getting started.

Werebear Alpha Lorne would never have let the luscious, curvy Kendra out of his sight if not for the battle raging within his den. But when the fiery, independent human woman returns carrying his child, he wont allow her to leave again. Even if it means seducing her until she sees how good they are together. Even if it means fighting his own den to keep her at his side.

The Bear's Accidental Mate - Tiffany Allee

    1

Aflash of brown barely registered at the corner of Kendra Hale’s eye before the fast moving blur was suddenly there, directly in front of her rented Prius. She slammed on the brakes, cringing, then hit the animal with a loud thud .

Dazed, she looked up from the steering wheel to see the car had stopped. Holy crap. She’d wrecked. Her first car accident, not only in a rented vehicle, but she was already late to a stupid work thing—and now stuck in the wilds of Alaska. How long had it been since she’d passed a town?

She straightened her glasses—thank goodness she hadn’t lost them. Talk about being really stuck. Broken down car plus practically blind would have put her in a real panic.

A flash of guilt hit her. Here she was worried about her glasses and being late to her job that she hated anyway when she’d probably killed some poor animal. How fast had she been going? Not fast enough to set off the airbag. The car couldn’t have been going over twenty-five before she started smashing the brakes. The navigation system had been leading the way, but she hadn’t been one hundred percent confident in the disembodied, polite voice. Besides that, she was a city girl. She trusted neither herself nor the Prius in any kind of backwoods area—let alone somewhere as wild and seemingly empty as Alaska.

She had to check and make sure the animal was okay. Or do something about it if the poor thing was injured and dying or—she gulped—already dead.

She reached for her seatbelt latch, but just as she touched it, her door flew open.

Yelping in surprise, she flinched away.

Are you okay? A growly voice asked.

The man was huge. He had a full beard, but not a trimmed, stylish one like she was seeing more often in the city lately. This man’s facial hair looked like it served a purpose—no doubt blocking the cold Alaskan wind.

    And he was buck naked.

    What. The. Hell.

Her eyes closed as if of their own volition, and she kept them shut even though a niggling in her brain told her that not looking was way worse than looking—what if the man wanted to hurt her? Not exactly a far-off possibility considering he was freaking naked in public. Well, public-ish. The last town had been miles off, but that wasn’t the point.

Miss? You okay? Talk to me.

Her eyes flew open. Yup. Still huge. Still bearded. The man hadn’t magically disappeared.

    Still naked.

Had she hit her head? Surely she was imagining this.

He reached for her, and she slapped at his hands. I’m fine. What are you—why are you—

Let me help you out of the car. His voice was far too calm given their situation—and his nakedness.

Don’t touch me. You’re naked. Did you know that? she babbled.

I had noticed, he replied dryly. What’s your name?

Kendra. Blood dried against the side of his scalp, and there were long scrapes and bruises marring his flesh. Realization hit her like a brick to the forehead. Holy shit. I hit you with my car.

You did, he said, still annoyingly calm. Amusement touched his eyes. But just barely.

Just barely… she repeated, still stunned.

His expression turned far more serious. Do you have a cell phone in there? I need to call you an ambulance.

No, you don’t. I’m fine, she said. She felt okay—physically. Thank goodness she hadn’t been going very fast. But still… Holy hell, she’d hit a person. The speedy blob hadn’t looked like a human being—then again, she’d barely glanced up from the navigation system in time to see it. The airbag didn’t even go off. I just need to get out of this car.

Where was her cell phone? It had been on the seat… A glint of something metal on the floor of the passenger’s side caught her eye. She reached for it, ignoring the annoyed noise the man outside made.

    Crap. The screen was shattered.

You need to wait for an ambulance. Someone to make sure you didn’t break anything. Does anything hurt? Feel odd?

Her shoulder was a touch sore from the seat belt, but she’d been going so slowly that it wasn’t bad. I told you I’m fine. She clicked the seat belt free and his frown deepened.

I don’t think you should do that. Regardless, your radiator is smashed. You’re not going anywhere in this car until you get that fixed.

Do you have a phone? she asked.

Sure, right here in my pocket, he said, with the barest hint of a smile.

I need to get to a phone. She ignored his attempt at humor and gestured to the floor where hers had landed after flying out of her hand and hitting the dash. She almost asked again if he had one on him but stopped herself in time. Of course he didn’t—he’d said so. Plus, the nude man didn’t exactly have a lot of places to hide one. Can you take me to a phone? Is there one nearby? Like…next to your clothes, perhaps?

I really think we should wait.

She huffed and reached for the door handle. I really think you should quit trying to order me around.

She wasn’t being fair. After all, he wasn’t the source of her bad day. If anything, getting to see a very sexy naked man had almost improved it. Sure, she’d crashed her rental, but she was okay, and he seemed fine. And somehow, she was certain that a car wreck would be more fun than the ridiculous team building activity she was supposed to be helping out with.

Except team building—to her jackass boss—meant a bunch of executives spending company money to get boozed up and party for a week in the wilds of Alaska. Albeit, given her boss’s taste, it would probably be a luxurious location in those wilds.

Thank goodness it was July, at least. The temperature approached something she’d classify as warm.

I see. Well, you could be injured. If you won’t wait for an ambulance… Before she could squeak out a syllable, the stranger had lifted her out of the car and cradled her to his chest.

    He turned away
