      DIY otherwise known as Do it Yourself involve self participation and involvement.  Projects are carried out without the involvement of experts or professionals. Such projects include building of houses, modifications and or caring out repair works. Individuals or group of individuals are able to make use of raw or semi-raw materials and other material components to create, produce, reconstruct, transform items or possessions into some other materials or product of high unique designs.

      There are various reasons why DIY activities can be carried out.  As much as the reasons can include motivation from market place as a result of economic benefits, reasons for adopting the DIY activities can also be as a result of product not being available, poor product quality, the need for the customization of products as well and the need to enhance identity.

      Do-it-yourself have been used as an associative term with consumer since the early 1900s.  It was synonymous with home improvement and maintenance actions.  Do it yourself became a popular phrase around the 1950s when the individual involvements in home improvements and maintenance activities became very common.  People took delight in getting involved with various crafts and project creating activities that were cost saving.  This was the major reason for its popularity as individuals and groups discovered easier and less expensive ways of developing products.

      As simple as this may sound, it posses a huge challenge for many people. 

      They struggle to keep the home clean and tidy as there are no proper storage mediums for every item. Storing your items in your home doesn’t have to be difficult and tedious. There are several methods that can be used in organizing and storing items around the home without creating chaos with them. Here are some lovely simple do – it –yourself constructions that you can make use of around your home.

      Shower Caddy Storage

      A shower caddy is not only useful in the bathroom as equipment for holding bathing materials and equipments.  It can be used for storing your office stationary items. You can keep your writing pads, pens and books neatly arranged on the shower caddy. 

      Hanging Baskets on Cabinet Doors

      Attach hooks on to your cabinet or wardrobe doors and hang plastic baskets on the hooks.  This is a great storage device that will help you keep important items close without using up space.
