Jesus and His Dog
()
About this ebook
The Author truly believes that dog is God’s most perfect creation and it shows by the unconditional love dog shows for man. This trait is not shown by any other creature and only shown in the relationship dog has with man, and is a gift from God to man. God is the only other that shows this unconditional love towards man, so the Author feels dog is something very special in God’s eyes, even the name “Dog” is a reflection of the name “God”.
This book will touch on all your emotions, happy, sad, anger and in the final chapter this Author’s vision of why dogs go to heaven, you will feel the unconditional love given to man only from God and Dog .
We all have heard the Gospel stories of Jesus, but the Author tastefully injected a loving companion dog into some of these beautiful stories. He knew some might take offense with him messing with the Gospels, but he is a man of great faith as well as a dog parent and he takes great pain in writing this book as to not change the Gospel's real meaning. Best way to see if this book is for you is to hit the look inside button, and you will be able to read a full chapter before you buy.
There are a few purely fictional chapters that were added, but they are respectfully written and take nothing from the scriptures.

Author’s note: This is a work of fiction. While the Author truly believes in the Gospel of the Lord, he has added a dog to these stories that then makes them a work of fiction. If Jesus had a dog in His life this story, is how the author feels that the dog would have played a role in His life.

About the Author
Foreword
Paw Prints in The Sand
While man continues to use the gift of his own free will that I gave him against me, I continue to love him.
Even when he questions my love and my very existence, I continue to be there for him.
Even when he commits sins and kills his own, and justifies it in my name, I continue to reach out to him.
Even when he bears false witness towards his brother and sister, I show him compassion.
Even though the only time he turns towards me in prayer is when he is in pain and needs something from me, I continue to answer his prayers.
Even though he continues to look back at the footprints in the sand, to see if I am still there as to question my loyalty, I continue to lift him unto my shoulders to get him over the rough spots.
Even though he continues to disappoint me, and I am saddened by what man has become, I will never abandon him.
It is these times of disappointment that I turn to my more perfect creation, and it lifts my heart.
From here I see that it has taken the gift of unconditional love that I gave it at creation and continues to use it as a reflection of my love towards man.
This creature while walking in the sand, never looks back to see if I’m there because it always knows that I will forever be there.
This creature, while being abused, beaten, starved and abandoned by man, like me, is always ready to show our forgiveness and love at the first sign of acceptance.
This creature my most perfect creation, might not of been created in My likeness, but was created as a reflection of my love towards man, and as a reflection of me, it was only fitting that its name reflected my own (God), and that is why I call it Dog!
And I am pleased!

Dedication
This book is dedicated to my best friend, Copper (shown below) and my wife who never gave up on me. If not for both of them, this book would never have been written. (Update dedication below)
When I first dedicated this book to Copper, it was because he played a vital part in helping me write it. Most days he would be lying by my side in the chair, as I typed on my laptop… when I would need inspiration to complete a thought I would rub his head and just take some time to give him some special loving, and it seemed to help bring the words I was looking for.
Sadly on September 16, 2012 Copper died suddenly of an aneurysm at the young age of 10 ½… He went from standing in the kitchen watching Sandy make lunch, begging for a handout to bleeding from his mouth non-stop. I held him in my arms, trying to figure out where to take him on a Sunday when he looked up at both of us, and laid his head on my arm, closed his eyes and fell asleep one last time in my arms, all within about three minutes.
The sense of helplessness and the visions of those last few minutes and hours to follow will never leave me and is why it has taken me over four weeks to write this re-dedication… It still pains me to re-call those moments and I miss him so very much and to this day start my day by visiting his grave to talk to him.
I felt I owe it to Copper to try and keep his memory alive with the help of this book, and now the meaning of the book is even more powerful for me personally; especially the last chapter and he played such a large part in writing it. Please help me share the stories of Jesus and His dog by telling a friend about it and by doing that you will be honoring my best friend Copper’s life.
Copper, Sandy and I would also like to invite you to purchase one of our other Kindle books listed below… all these books are written to help Pet Parents with the health and well-being of your pet child.
I wrote both the books below as a result of Copper starting to have seizures when he was 7, and they are yet another example of how He shaped my life.

The Birth of a King
Jesus Meets His Dog
On this night in Bethlehem, the city of David there seemed to be something different happening, something extraordinarily special seemed to be in the works. The night was dark, but there was a mysterious star that lit up the night sky, seeming to be announcing to the world that an event that would change all mankind from this point forward was about to take place.
In the distance a woman scream could be heard that seemed to go on for some time, could it be that she had wandered out on this night only to be attacked by wild animals, or was it that she fell victim to a group of men looking to take advantage of her? But yet these screams seemed to be similar to screams heard from women from the time dating back to Eve… these screams were not just screams of pain, but there was also an element of rejoicing that accompanied them.
It became apparent that these were the sounds of women giving birth, but they came, not from the comfort of a home, but from a stable behind the Inn. Could it be true that some poor women were giving birth to her child, not in a bed, but on the ground in a stable meant to provide shelter for the animals?
This was a time in history of the great census were the emperor of Rome had commanded that all the people in the territories being ruled by Rome, go to the city of their family's birth to be counted, and their names placed on the official books.
Joseph and Mary had just made the long journey from Nazareth since they were both of the family of David, and they were ordered to Bethlehem, the city of David to have their names written upon the list at that place. When reaching Bethlehem, Joseph found the city was swarming with people and could find no rooms for his wife Mary, who was with child and about to give birth.
One Inn keeper directed Joseph to the stable behind the Inn and told him this was the best he could do and said he could stay there, so Joseph and Mary spend their first days in Bethlehem in the stables.
On the night of the bright star, God kept his promise to Mary, and she gave birth to a male child that they would later name Jesus. That name, Jesus, means salvation,
and God has sent his Son to be the salvation for all mankind.
On that very night, there were shepherds in the fields outside of Bethlehem watching over their flock… The shepherds had knowledge of the promise from God to David that one of his descendants would be the Savior of all men, but when the angel of the Lord suddenly came near, and a spectacular light broke upon them through the darkness they trembled with fear.
The shepherds could not understand why God would send to them an angel and feared that they have somehow angered God and were about to be punished.
Then the angel spoke, and said: Fear not, for I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you are born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the lord... And you will find the, babe wrapped in swaddling-clothes lying in a manger.
The heavens were filled with song, and the angels and shepherds rejoiced giving glory to God in the highest. And they also song, Peace on earth, good will toward men.
Once the angels left, the shepherds decided they would go into Bethlehem and find the child to pay homage to the child. They gather their humble gifts, left their flocks and headed towards town. They left their dogs behind to tend to the sheep, but accompanying them on their journey to town was a small six week old female puppy that never left one young shepherd side.
She was always underfoot and anywhere he went she would have to follow, so it was no surprise to the shepherds that she would follow them into Bethlehem. One of the elder shepherds told the younger one that he must tend to his pup and make sure that she did not become a nuisance when they found the child.
The young shepherd loved his pup and envisioned her as becoming the best herder of his flock and was looking forward to spending many lonely nights in the field with her at his side. He said he would take care of his pup; there would be no trouble, and said, It would be a blessing on her and their flock if she were to witness the savior with them
, so she was allowed to go with them into Bethlehem.
The shepherds entered Bethlehem and had no trouble finding the stable where Mary gave birth to Jesus; it was as they were being guided by the angels to the right place.
The shepherds told Mary and Joseph about the angel and the wonderful song that the angels sang. And each knelt before the manger and worshiped the little babe who lay quietly sleeping in the hay.
Unnoticed by everyone except Mary, the dog pup slowly crept into the manger and snuggled up against the child. She licked Jesus on his face turned in a circle three times and cuddled up next to him and fell asleep.
The young shepherd finally noticed the dog, and horrified started towards her slowly as not to wake the child, but Mary held out her arm to stop him, and softly said, she is fine, please leave her sleep.
When it was time for the shepherds to get back to their flock, they started to leave the stable when one of them noticed the dog was not following them. They turned to see the dog was still cuddled up next to Jesus, but noticed something different. The bright star that lit the night also cast a single ray of light onto the child and the dog. The dog woke up and without raising her head peered up at the younger shepherd as to acknowledge he was leaving, but as to say I must stay behind with this child.
The shepherds took this as a sign from God that they were to leave the pup as a gift from them to the child, so they went back to their flock without her. While the young shepherd had a heavy heart because of leaving his companion, he also felt pride that God had a higher calling for his pup and only wondered what her life would be like with Jesus.

Dog Saves Jesus
In the Country far to the east of Judah, there lived some wise men who studied the stars. One night they discovered a new star in the sky, one that they had never seen before. And God caused them to know by this star that Christ, the promised King of the Jews, had been born.
The wise men lived in fear of God, and took the star as a sign that God wanted them to travel to the place of the birth
