"You're Stupid! You're Ugly! Nobody Likes You!" is a parody of self-help books which takes a different angle on the subject. The book is meant to leave people with the sense they've been walking around with excessive nose hair all their life. It embraces the idea that there's sense in being insensitive, and intends to leave the reader scratching their head about whether the author is kidding or not. The work is also meant to be an entertaining slant on the way pretentious self-help books are structured.
"You're Stupid! You're Ugly! Nobody Likes You!" might be described as a "semi-parody", in that it is a spoof of self-help books which is really meant to be helpful. Sometimes parody can be valuable because humor makes issues more palatable, and being absurd can be insightful.
This book is NOT for kids, but mature teenagers should be able to handle it. For adults --especially Stupid, Ugly, Dislikeable ones-- this book is intended as a funny wakeup slap.
The book is irreverent towards historical figures, literary figures, pop culture figures, and just about anyone else who might figure into things.
In a warped way, "You're Stupid! You're Ugly! Nobody Likes You" is meant to show how the serious advice in self-help books shouldn't be taken too seriously. If you think "Dogs Playing Poker" is as valid a statement as "The Scream", you'll understand the idea of this book.

Bruce Edwin Huggins lives in upstate New York. He specializes in unconventional stories and irreverent types of literature. He was inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. He is now a full-time author and an avid student of the history of rural America.
