- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I never really liked modern poetry before, it always felt like all of the authors and the poems were talking about the same things, the same struggles and loves. It was all to much Instagram like for me. But even though Pillow Thoughts could fit into that category of poetry, it still manage to deliver feelings and moments inside a storyline that were beautifully astonishing. Totally loved it and recommend it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Written with the best kind of intentions!! I loved it!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5amazing book that gave me hope to live again thank you
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Muy muy lindo y ligero.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This poetry is simplistic, I enjoyed it as a casual read, mostly love poems, nothing really stuck with me though
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved it. This book and everything in it was written with love, longing and sadness. Worth every page.

Read the book when I was sad and it did give me feels. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I don’t think this is a self-help book. This book of poems, rather, is collection of looking for someone you love that deserves you. TOO SWEET. NOT MY FOOD POEM.
Maybe I should read this when I am in love
Maybe then I would appreciate the sweetness of it - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5loved it a lot . related to it even - good read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Time is valuable. For all the time we’ve lost by not being together, it has made you
the most valuable thing to me.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is my first time reading a poem book, I'm interested in diving more into this genre. incredible work and words
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Unrequited love is a wellspring for embarrassing poetry.
I should know.
In sixth grade I wrote a book of it to Cody.
He laughed.
I cried.
And then I died a little on the inside.
This book of poems makes me feel the same. Kind of sad. Kind of embarrassed.
I don't like being critical because poetry is something very personal and it was brave to put it into the hands of strangers. However, I think this poetry feels childish and lacks depth. It took me straight back to sixth grade. I was expecting more sophisticated language and ideas and I was disappointed. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I've been trying to get a head start on my 2022 goal of getting into poetry by slogging through this one, and I sure chose my first stop poorly.
I figured by the cover that this would be a collection of poetry on things one might be thinking while lying in bed and having trouble sleeping. And I guess that's what it is, for the author. Turns out, we just think about very different things in general.
Now, I get the appeal of love poetry, and can enjoy it if it's well done. But as someone who doesn't really feel romantic love, I have to say this became very tedious very fast.
Basically, this is a collection of diary like writing on heart-ache and love. There are a couple more traditional poems in the mix, but most of the writing is just juvenile prose about love and heart break formatted to look like poetry.
There was nothing original, nothing particularly skillful, nothing inspiring, and definitely nothing relatable in this (for me). Having said that, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would enjoy this. Especially younger ones, or maybe the type of people who love love, and who are only satisfied if they are in a relationship.
A good first step in my poetry journey, though, as it's always useful to figure out what one dislikes when trying to figure out what one actually enjoys. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5After reading Rupi Kaurs two books of poetry last year I have definitely been more intrigued to pick up and read some more. This one popped up as an amazon prime freebie so of course I gave it a whirl.Pillow Thoughts is a collection of poetry and prose broken into 10 sections. All deal with love, heartache, loss, and self worth. She delves into all the various aspects and emotions that come with falling in love. The heartache when it ends, the butterflies when it’s new, the beauty in the comfortable mundane-ness of a relationship. Peppernell explores feelings of self esteem and self worth, something that everyone has struggled with at some point in their lives. She has a simple yet heartfelt writing style that was easy and relatable. She captures complex feelings and emotions in a way that is easily digestible and enjoyed. I could see myself in much of her work, here are a few passages that I really connected with:Overall an enjoyable, quick read, one that can be revisited and felt anew with different stages in life. Definitely recommend this to my poetry fans (and like me- new to the poetry game!)

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5It’s not poetry, it’s not even poetic, it’s not prose - there’s no real story — it’s just a lot of very simple sentences. Very cringe at times and quiet boring, very surprised this was published even more surprised people bought it.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Just terrible. Generic and not a rich reading. Page four was a clear sign that the book was not gonna be a words masterpiece.
