    Life goes on, more or less as expected until, out of the blue, something happens that requires a change of course. In the early 1920's the famous psychologist Carl Gustav Jung became aware of the frequency of events in the lives of his clients in which he sensed an uncanny connection of the inner, unconscious world, with the outer, conscious world. In 1951, Jung formally introduced the word “synchronicity” to describe the phenomenon of a coincidence with meaningful effect. It includes the concept of the Trickster, the archetype that includes highly developed elements of the unconscious. It Just So Happened: A Synchronistic Journey is a chronicle of synchronistic events that influenced the author's life for ninety-seven years. The book was written by Nancy Anderson, niece of Norman Rockwell, who was co-founder of the C.J. Jung Society of Florida and a teacher of Jung psychology. The impetus for writing the book was itself a synchronistic event. For more than a decade, Nancy wrote short cameos about her family and relatives, but she wasn't interested in going into more detail about her own life. Then … It Just So Happened … a man named Earl Mackey, a friend and fellow-member of the Jung Society of Sarasota held a seminar on synchronicity, and Nancy realized there was a new, fascinating perspective of life she needed to share.

    Nancy Anderson is a nationally acclaimed career and life consultant and the author of the bestselling career guide Work with Passion: How to Do What You Love for a Living. She was a Regents Scholar at the University of California, where she graduated magna cum laude with an interdisciplinary degree in English and political science. Following graduation in 1976, she helped start a career consulting firm in San Francisco with two partners. Five years later (1981), she started her own business, at which time she wrote Work with Passion, based on her own and her clients' experiences. She has had her own radio show, has participated in numerous radio talk show interviews, has been a regular guest on a San Francisco morning television show, and has appeared in live interviews for CNN, ABC, NBC, and CBS. Nancy has spoken to groups such as the Commonwealth Club, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Learning Annex, chambers of commerce, and women's organizations such as the National Association of Executive Women, as well as churches and other spirituality-based organizations. Publications as diverse as the New York Post, the San Francisco Chronicle, Female Executive, Working Woman, Inc., Yoga Journal, and Home Arts (an online production of Hearst New Media and Technology) have interviewed her or discussed her book. Today, Nancy uses the process in Work with Passion to guide her clients into jobs and businesses that match their values. She lives and works (with a great deal of passion) in Northern California.
