About this ebook

A barking dog complaint is sent to the Seattle Patrol section to handle. Patrolman Samuel Jones pulls up to the house and has heard the dog barking for the last block. He knocks on the front door where the dog is currently barking out back. The front door opens a crack. A little old, gray haired lady looks up at him, “Sonny, you need to keep your dog outside. He is not getting into my house. Now be off.”
The Patrolman calls Janette Rage, a female Homicide Detective to help with the little old lady. Rage gets invited into the little old lady’s house and finds she has an empty two-story doghouse, no dog and one cat. While Rage is there, several hooded and armed men break the back door down. When Patrolman Jones arrives, he finds three armed men all dead on the floor near the back door. Rage had locked the little old lady in the bathroom before the back door gave in.
What could a two-story dog house contain that is worth getting shot for? Or is it the garage that has not been opened for ages. Maybe it is the antique car, covered in dust they want?

Chapter 1 The Barking Dog Incident

Two men meet in a rented apartment in NW Seattle, the one in the recliner asks, Are you done?

Yes, it was not easy. I almost fell and broke my neck We are ready when you say the word. But I don’t see how this is going to get her out of the house.

Patience, this will get everyone upset and even mad. I also have a backup plan, if we need it. Let it start tomorrow at sundown."

Most criminal activities start with a meeting of two people. This one is slightly different. The meeting has been held, the crime is in progress, it has been reported to the police and a case file has been opened. Unfortunately, the police have taken no action for the last four weeks.

There is a second meeting beginning, independent a week after the first meeting that has everything to do with the police case. This second meeting is being held in a multi-million-dollar Penthouse in Seattle. When standing in the right place in the Penthouse, one can see the Space Needle, Mt. Rainier, and Puget Sound by only turning one’s head.

There are two women present in the Penthouse. They are very similar and yet somehow different. The mistress of this penthouse is a dark-haired beauty some place between twenty-five and forty-five years old. Some have described her as statuesque, charming, stately, debonair, classy, deadly, cold, and calculating but never in her presence. The stately brunet is behind her 20-foot walnut desk and there is no doubt she is the boss. Dressed in a black business suit, hair is pulled back into a bun on the back of her head. Few words even come close to describing the madam behind the desk. The Boss is called madam out of respect by her staff.

Her physical workout partners are seven sets of two men each. If things are not going her way, they will need the seven days to recover from her beating. She has been trained by the Nemeses, the only female to do so.

To her, a million American dollars is petty cash and tracked as such. Her penthouse suite over looks most of Seattle. Few people know about her and the smart ones do not want to know. Seldom does she visit any of her ventures. If she does, someone will likely pay dearly for it. Her organization may have only her office assistant staff and at other times, it may number in the hundreds, or even a thousand.

A slightly younger looking blond woman is standing in front of the walnut desk. She is 6-feet 1-inch tall, in her bare feet. Her blond hair is short, almost a boy’s cut. She is blue eyed, perky nose and a long neck. Her light blue summer dress is knee high on a long pair of legs. Her name is Solvieg Blom, which means sun colored, yellow; Blom is old Norse. But, she will never be confused with a boy from any angle.

Solvieg was a former run-way model, earning millions herself. She is now an assistant to the woman behind the walnut desk.

Solvieg speaks. Madam, our data-mining effort found this item. However, further research shows we were one week too late.

No matter, those ahead of us are heavy handed, uncouth and will make several serious errors. When they do, we shall take it over. I will obtain some investors and you handle the surveillance from afar. Their plan will not work and will quickly bring the police all over them. Keep me updated.

Chapter 2 Monday, the Barking Continues

There is an older but quiet neighborhood (called North Queen Ann) in the north-west part of Seattle, near 9th northwest.

The residents within a block of the noise are outraged about the barking dog which has been going on for four weeks, but it seems like several months. The dog seems to start barking just as the sun goes down and continues for two hours by the clock. The neighbors around this older Victorian house are upset. The neighbors never see the lights go on
