Through this introspection, Feliciano explores the range of emotions one experiences in personal matters and relationships while maturing from childhood through adolescence to adulthood. In Who Am I, she reflects on her past, present, and future. / Who am I as a person / Who really knows me / Even those who known me for a long time / Still wonder who I really am / I could be the good girl / Or I could be the bad girl / Who am I really / No one would ever / know / My life had its up and down / Being me hasnt been easy / Who am I now / Nothing comes breezy / Life takes drastic turns / You wonder where itll take you / Who will believe in me anyway / Then who am I today /

Raising My Voice - Melinda E. Feliciano
ALIVE
I feel so alive now
Now that I can breathe
I didn’t know how
But I felt so relieved
Being alive feels so good
That I don’t want to go back
Somehow I knew I would
And somehow it made me think back
I’m going to stay alive as long as I can
Forever and ever
It’s what I had planned
And it’s for the better
I’m alive today
I didn’t know why
I’m going to stay that way
Till the day I die
ANGEL
You’re like an angel from the sky
Living in a darkness shadow
Seeing and believing these heartless little lies
Changing the mysteries in life and hollow
I came to understand this angel of mine
Giving all these demands
Not knowing if it will give me a sign
Or just try to lend me a helping hand
It’s hard to give an angel a stare
For what I thought it was meant to be
Yet I was unaware
Hoping that it would set me free
Never knowing what to expect with this angel from above
You tried to come around but you didn’t hear what I said
Nothing will be the same with this angel that I love
When I’m sitting here waiting for you on my bed
BREAKAWAY
It’s time to breakaway from this life
And never look back
I never knew how things would turn out like
When everything went out of whack
When I decided to breakaway
I didn’t knew how it was going to turn out like
I didn’t want to get carried away
But I wasn’t going to go down without a fight
To breakaway on my own for the first time
It would be hard to stay intact
Without a nickel or a dime
I had to take it for a fact
I have to take a chance
And to make a change
Without taking a stance
And to breakaway by looking at things strange
BREATHE
Now that I can breathe on my own
I was never going to be alone
Didn’t know what lay ahead
I still be here till the end
Let me breathe again
Can you just be my friend
Don’t try to hold me back
I just didn’t know how I was going to react
It’s not so easy to breathe
But I do my best at ease
I was kind of relieved
Seeing everything to clear and brief
When I breathe I feel so alive
I didn’t want to take it in stride
But everything felt so real
Making me wonder what was the deal
CARING
I never stopped caring about you
And I don’t think I will
I didn’t know what I was going to do
I didn’t know how my life be fulfilled
Why are you so caring to me
What did it mean to me
I just wanted to take it slow
And let it be
Is it so hard to be so caring
Just let your emotions go and stop worrying
Can we just get along and be sharing
Just stay cool keep it flowing
Stay as caring as you are
Stay as sweet as you can be
Just make sure that you make it far
And not just for me
CHOICES
We all have choices in life and we want to be accepted
I always have choices but didn’t know what they mean
We’re scared in our lives that at times we feel rejected
That nothing we say is heard or unseen
I knew that there were a lot of choices to be made
I didn’t know what to do
Thinking it would drive me crazy
But it felt too good to be true
Why am I making all these choices now
Hoping that you would understand and come back
Believing everything I heard would come true
But nothing would be the same again
With all these choices
