Logic, Science, and God: How It All Fits Together
()
About this ebook
Combining logic, science, and God is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle; it can be very challenging. But in Logic, Science, and God , author Paul Stevens uses these concepts to help us understand our origin, why we are here on earth, and what we can expect when we die.
Logic, Science, and God helps answer many of lifes questions and provides detailed ways to obtain further light and knowledge. It explains:
The basic laws of physics How evolution occurs Mans relationship to the universe Where mans intelligence originates How creation occurs Why creation does not happen by chance What God looks like The necessity of experiencing pain and suffering The two basic categories of laws we need to obey to be content and happy Facts concerning our destiny.Through deductive reasoning and common sense, Logic, Science, and God teaches you how to be grateful and content with life, and it shows how science and a belief in God are logically compatible.

There is a favorite line from my novella Dinner Party For Eight in which Angela asks Harry:“What do you think I am?”Harry considered this for a moment. What was she actually?“Well I suppose you are a very beautiful cook.”So if I have to answer the same question what am I actually? I would also need to consider this for a moment. I would like to say I’m an ex astronaut, have more degrees than a thermometer, have competed in the Tour de France without any EPO, surfed Teahupoo in Tahiti and emerged unscathed, sailed round the world, am an ace Alpine skier, am a member of Mensa, have a beauty queen wife and gorgeous kids, and started my own corporation which has listed on NASDAQ. I could go on but like Arnold Schwarzenegger I don’t want to boast.Well to be honest, I have gone some of the way towards all those things. I do have a letter from Wernher von Braun, I do have three degrees in Physics, I have flown in a jet plane (Emirates Air), I do cycle the mega steep hills here where I live but unfortunately can’t get EPO anywhere, I am a keen surfer who has almost managed to break his neck, I am an ocean going skipper and I did own my own yacht though if it was me I wouldn’t sail with me as captain, I do ski but you need to get out of the way, I do have a beautiful wife (though her agreeing to marry me has to be my biggest piece of luck ever) and two great kids, I do have my own software business but no stock exchanges alas and I would like to take the Mensa test but I’m pretty sure I would fail and then I wouldn’t be able to live with that so I would rather rationalize. I live in that sapphire city – Cape Town.

To my wife, children, and grandchildren, Angela Zygaczenko, and Scott Pitcher who encouraged me to write this book
Preface
This project began seventy years ago when I was eight years old. Many childhood memories have diminished, but not the following event. I was having a conversation with a lineman working on a utility pole next to my home. The lineman said he was a minister in a local church and worked for the electric company to supplement his income. I told him which church I went to and that I believed what I was learning. He laughed and said, Ignorant boy, the only reason you believe in what your church teaches is because your parents take you there and you don’t know anything else.
Even though I was young, the comment made a great impression on me. I vowed to search for the truth aside from what I was taught by my parents. As I grew older, my search for truth led me to study the sciences and all the major religions around the world. I also immersed myself in the study of logic, epistemology (the study of how we know), philosophy, and the sciences from three major universities. The concepts I have learned have brought me understanding, contentment, and happiness. I desire to share these concepts with others to enjoy as I have.
Introduction
There is nothing more important in one’s life than to be content and genuinely happy. We can be content and happy by learning and understanding the laws of nature and the laws of sociality and by living in accordance with them. Nonconformity to these laws ultimately results in misery and despair.
Logic, Science and God is intended to provoke thought and improve understanding for those willing to learn and adhere to the laws explained herein. The author explains through logic and simple scientific principles the truth about the origin of man, mankind’s development, and how to obtain joy and happiness. The reader is encouraged to place the thoughts contained herein into the crucible of his or her own mind, analyze the material, and test it against well-established and proven principles. The author has drawn conclusions that, when understood, will bring peace of mind, knowledge of the origin and destiny of man, understanding, joy, contentment, and happiness, providing we live in accordance with the laws that govern us.
Chapter 1:
The Origin of Man
The Basic Laws of Physics
Since the dawn of time, man has wondered how mankind came to be. The answer is really quite simple. We must understand two basic laws of physics before we can understand man’s origin. They are as follows:
These laws are the basic laws of physics. We can draw sound conclusions from understanding them. One must rely totally on
