About this ebook

It was a typically warm summers day as the tipper trucks rested together under the shade of gum trees while their drivers had lunch. The trucks enjoyed a break from carrying the heavy loads of gravel and took the chance to cool down and have a chat.
Hodgy an old V8 square cabin style tipper truck was particularly grumpy today as he had been at the rear of the four trucks and his sky blue paint was covered in dust.
He chuffed to the other trucks with a small cough.
I am sick of being at the back. I heard we are doing the steep part of the road next. My driver Glen is the most experienced so he may even get to lead!

    The Trucks Are Talking

    He sputtered out another cough.

Peppin, a huge battered very old but solid tipper truck retorted quickly

I do not know why your complaining Hodgy I am usually at the back and spend my life covered in dust, at least your driver washes you occasionally

Hodgy thought about how his driver Glen did look after him very well and knew that he was lucky to have a good owner, but still this did not stop his dismay.

Lindsay, the youngest and largest of all the tipper trucks who was a bright yellow and green long nose style truck listened to the two old trucks and chuckled.

Well I know that my driver Robbie is the lead hand. So I am sure that we will be at the front for the steep part

Lindsay rested easy for he was sure that he would be in the lead after lunch.

Hodgy sighed, knowing that Lindsay was probably right.

Well I do not want to choke on everyone’s dust again. I may even get a flat battery, that’s what I will do Hodgy exclaimed to the group.

Patty a medium size long nose tipper truck who was always cheerful as he was painted shiny green and constantly washed by his owner to look glistening now piped up Oh no Hodgy! You cannot get a flat battery today. That means more work for each of us and Glen would be very angry with you.

Patty may have looked shiny but he did not like to do much hard
