About this ebook

A $20 million jewelry exhibition is taken over night from a secure 12th floor. Robbery is at a dead end. They request Detective Rage to give them a different look.
She asks for detail floor measurement for three floors. She asks the police to measure them. Could they put them in CAD program?
The secure 12th floor has many alarms, but none were sounded. Next Rage finds the windows on the 12th floor were open over night to control the temperature. The 12th floor has no ledge on it, nor does the 11th or 13th.
She finds the 12th floor windows were open because of a problem on the 11th floor. No one can explain why, other than the temperature on the 11th floor needed to be corrected. The building is run by computers.
Jones and Rage watched the fighting Ebots destroy each other. How can four young teenagers afford the front row box seats? They can hardly afford a drink.

    Chapter 1 Fighting Ebots (Robots)

They did not put on TV the junior and consolation rounds of the fighting robots, called Ebots. Before the main events start on the TV, the cameras pan the arena for the excitement of the crowd. No one notices that the prime front and center box, which is roped off, has five young kids in it. They would be lucky to afford the cheapest ticket they offer.

While in Seattle, Samuel Jones is glued to his TV set as the class-one battles of the fighting Ebots is about to start. A huge Ebot with a spinning horizonal cylinder with teeth is up against a flipping arm heavily armored Ebot. The arm can flip 1000 pounds many feet into the air over a thirty feet distance.

The question the crowd has, ‘can the flipper damage him enough by tossing him before he grinds into something important?’

There is a knock on his front door and Jones does not move. More knocks and the door open. Detective Rage comes in and closes the door.

Jones acknowledges her presence by pointing at a chair, maybe with a grunt. Rage comes over to watch the Ebots battle. She appreciates the workmanship that goes into the machines. She says nothing, sits down and watches.

They sit and enjoy watching the Ebots tear each other apart. After three battles there is series of commercials. They pan the crowd one more time when they come back from the commercials. Jones meanwhile goes to the refrigerator for a glass of milk, but he brings the entire container. In his other hand is his boiled cake, see ‘The Case That Wasn’t.’ He did add more molasses, eggs, and some corn meal to this one.

He asks, "You can have some cake, I have an
