      5’5" 186-lbs

      I’ve been in martial arts since I was ten and have made many guys taste the agony of defeat. Then again, I’ve also been thrown around by some pretty tough fighters. Inside of the martials arts and competition community most people are pretty cool. That is about 99% of people. I only had one man that I ever needed to really set straight. But outside of class I had to take on some silly and crazy challenges from three other men. My brother, step-father and a boyfriend of mine were the most memorable.

      My sister Kera is one year older than me and she comes off as being a lot more gentle and polished that I do. But make no mistake about it, Kera is a cruel lady when she needs to be or just when she wants to be. Over the years we’ve definitely pushed each other to get better and pushed each other to be more and more ruthless.

      My step-father began making fun of me for how much time I had been spending in training. I was eighteen-years-old and a commuter college student. He started teasing me about why I’m still doing martial arts instead of other things. It really was none of his business, plus I was already an instructor at the dojo. Terrance (he likes being called Terry so I call him Terrance) was a very accomplished Squash player and he also golfed and played tennis a lot. I have always seen him as very preppy. At about 5’9" 175lbs he was decent looking for a fifty-five-year-old man (he’s now sixty-five). I never really clicked with him but he was nice enough to my mother.

      One day Terrance took it too far by saying that even though I train a lot I still couldn’t protect myself if a man really wanted to hurt me. I shot back immediately by telling him that I could kick his ass. To my shock, Terrance really wanted to put me in my place. I think he planned to have me out of the house at eighteen and I had upset his plans. One thing was sure, he had some negative feelings directed squarely at me.

      I told Terrance that if he wanted to grapple with me then it’s his own grave he’s digging. He didn’t appreciate
