      Try It • Catalog Poems

      Catalog poems repeat words or phrases, usually at the beginning of lines, to create a dreamlike sense. A good catalog poem will build in power as it moves forward. If you feel the power diminish, you know it’s time to alter or interrupt the repetition.

      Try writing a simple poem using the same words at the beginning or the end of the lines. The poem can be just a stack of brief sentences
