Know this AFTERMARKET ECUs

The world of aftermarket engine management is a complex one, and with so many different systems to choose from it gets very confusing to understand exactly how they work and what benefits they offer.

To get the best understanding possible of how aftermarket engine management systems take these signals from various sensors, interpret the information, and then instruct different engine components what to do, we spoke to three ECU manufacturers; Omex and Extra Efi (for MegaSquirt), as well as someone who maps all manor of aftermarket ECUs — Northampton Motorsport’s Troy Robinson.
