    Introduction

    Excel is the one tool that every person out there needs to know. Every organization in the world has begun to use either the online or the offline versions of Excel. They have been using it to ensure that they are able to send out data in a manner that is easy to understand and interpret. There are different tools that Excel provides which you can use to your benefit. This book helps you identify all those tools.

    Over the course of the book, you will gather more information about how you can work with worksheets. You will learn more about how you can format a worksheet using the different groups that are available in the Ribbon. You will also look at different examples that will help you understand how you can use these tools better. You will also gather more information about cell referencing.

    When you are working on Excel, it is essential that you know what cell referencing is and how you can put it to use. There are three types of referencing that have been mentioned. You will also learn about a concept called circular referencing which talks about how you may find yourself in trouble if you make a mistake with the formula. Apart from the formulae that were covered in the first two books, this book covers additional formulae that will make it easier for you to use Excel. You will also have learnt how to enter data and manipulate data in Excel. So, how do you ensure that the data that has been entered is accurate? This book sheds some light on how you can verify that the data entered in Excel is accurate. You can do this by using the Data Validation option in Excel. This is an important tool since it helps in ensuring that the data that you use is right for the operations that you want to perform.

    You can also use Excel to visualize the data you enter in Excel. This will also help you visualize the trends in the data that you enter.     Chapter One: Working With Worksheets

    Before we look at how we can work with worksheets, let us understand that what a worksheet is. When you open Excel, you open a workbook that has a few sheets within it. These sheets are called the spreadsheets or worksheets of the file. If you want to know the number of worksheets that you have in a workbook, you should look at the bottom of the Excel window.

    In the above workbook, there are three worksheets – ‘Classes,’ ‘Sales’ and ‘Thank you.’ When you want to switch to a different worksheet, you should click on the name of the worksheet.

    Creating a New Worksheet

    One of the easiest ways to add a new worksheet to your workbook is to click on the ‘+’ button at the bottom of your screen. This button will be present next to the last worksheet in the workbook.

    When you click that button, you will get a new worksheet that has the name ‘Sheet2,’ and this worksheet will be added to the right-most end of the list of worksheets.

    When you want to insert any new sheet into the middle of the list of worksheets, you can go to the Home Tab in the Ribbon and click on the Insert Button. Select the option Insert Sheet from the menu.

    You will find that the new worksheet has been created to the left of the worksheet that you are working in currently. Alternatively, you can insert a new worksheet into the workbook by right-clicking on the worksheet tab and selecting ‘Insert’ from the menu.

    Renaming and Deleting Worksheets

    If you want numerous sheets in your workbook, it will be hard for you to remember which sheet you need to use when the name of the sheet is ‘Sheet2’ or ‘Sheet3.’ Microsoft Excel allows you to rename any worksheet by right-click on that tab and choosing
