AND so here we are, officially in autumn – even though certain parts of the country may be in denial with their 30-plus degree days and mozziemad nights.

Still, for many of us it’s getting harder to decide what to wear every morning: sweatshirt or T-shirt? Long pants or shorts? Which is why at season-changing time, we rely on our weather apps all the more – yr.no, Accu-Weather, Windguru, Google’s weather app, the ones that come built in with your smartphone . . . bring them on.

But there’s a problem: they seldom, if ever, agree. One will tell you there’s no chance of rain, while another will advise you to get out your raincoat.
