Author

Sylvain Neuvel

Sylvain Neuvel has taught linguistics in India and worked as a software engineer in Montreal. He is also a certified translator, though he wishes he were an astronaut. His girlfriend would have him believe that he has too many toys, so he writes about aliens and giant robots as a blatant excuse to build action figures (for his son, of course). His debut, Sleeping Giants, was described by NPR as “one of the most promising series kickoffs in recent memory.”

Enjoyed it so much, this book is like a black mirror episode and it leaves you feeling so stunned by what just happened while also wanting to change a bit of the world

    A favorite !
this book left me with a hole in my chest, a sense of emptiness and mild depression that lasted a day. no joke.

Why am I puting it in my favs list? I don't know, I think I have became a grotesque person who is awed by a book's brilliance no matter the effect it had on me.
Ture, this book's lasting impression was morbid to say the least but I can understand that it wouldn't have affected me in such way had it not touch a cord with me..
The absolute brilliance of this author astonished me. she wrote a story that was internationally transparent while critiquing governmental control over its people's morals and thoughts and humans' generally acceptable codes and ways of being according to a prejudice community's expectations.
Honestly, I was also frightened by the statistics this book showed and how it affected me personally.
    Absolutely brilliant and frightening !!
I read this book for the reading rush, it was the last book and it gave me reading slump, so, I was thankful to god I read it last or else I wouldn't have continue.
