About this ebook

The book justifies the importance of handwriting in brain development. For this reason, handwriting as educational objective is more than a means of expression, notes taking, writing assignment, and writing examinations. However, the more people use technology at home and in schools handwriting is threatened by typing. The book will put into perspective how technology can enhance handwriting. This is by the use of relevant software and devices. The book shows the study of detailed variables in handwriting. The temporal and spatial variables cannot be evaluated by the conventional graphological approach.
The content in the book is informed by research from scholarly articles and from detailed computer simulations on handwriting and digital academics

    Comments

I have become Agosa's raving fan because of his fine work that I have seen of late. Friend, this is a formidable piece of writing that guarantees new insights in the field of electronic learning. I was especially impressed by his way of presenting his work in a simple format yet deep in content. Still yet I was amazed by his ability to express a clear-cut distinction between close and confusing concepts in technology education. I believe in strong terms that this work is meant to sharpen the entire mental faculties of those who want to stand out as exceptional minds.

Honestly this is big work, surely Agosa you have a lot of energy to move big projects. Shalom! I am privileged to share in your work.

    Preface

Technology is dynamic…. . And its effects on learning processes remain the most intriguing aspect of it. Our children are fast integrating the use of PCs, Laptops, and Smart phones at home and at school. Although domestic and industrial application of technology is extensive, there is no doubt that its effect on the educational processes is tremendous. One of the major concerns is whether technology has endangered handwriting. Handwriting is a cardinal educational objective in the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE). Experts have established that it has a strong correlation to reading, coordination, language, and mental development. Therefore, handwriting is more than just a means of expression of thoughts by text. As an educational objective, if handwriting’s core role remains a means of expression alone, typing will obviously replace it. Looking at handwriting in terms of its role in mental development makes it an important educational objective. This book will analyse handwriting as the first educational psychomotor skill and relate it to technology. Educational content, programmes, and application are vital in linking handwriting and technology.

The eyes and the ears help in creating mental images. The process of translating the images into their physical form and appearance requires thinking and action of muscles; it is referred to as Psychomotor. This book will investigate psychomotor skills in relation to writing in Early Childhood Development.  The book will define psychomotor skills and its features in the light of its industrial application. This is the advanced sense of psychomotor in learning.

    Introduction

Every morning during school days I see pupils in their tender age go to school. Some wait by the bus stage for the school bus, some foot to school, some go by train and some are driven by private means. And for a moment I stand aside from the wave of routine and pursuit of economic comforts to think through the concept of education and educational processes. The fundamental issues that come to my mind is - the essence of education; whether these pupils will come out of school and consider education as an event in life or a life style; and the effects of widely accepted and tacitly institutionalised rote learning. Although I understand that complex formula, government policies, the education curriculum, and strategic educational think tanks are better placed to explain the state of education, this book will address the basic issue of learning - Handwriting. The systemic issues associated with the educational policies
